LOL - That's about right...

-4 degrees overnight... Wood pellet stove keeps us cozy.

I think I may actually have to use the block heater on the diesel if this keeps up. Things have been good so far, no issues with start, the cold just keeps coming...

On the positive side with each sunrise we're gaining daylight now. We're up to +1 minute gain each day. Getting us closer to longer and warmer days!

Tom,

That D-max will enjoy at least a couple hours of block heating time if you can. Easier starting, faster warmup, cab heat quicker.

My Beetle diesel uses glow plugs to start it and I've lost 2 of them per my first round of diagnostics. It makes a big difference on them. Sounds like a little Kubota I think I can I think I can when it starts.

The Cummins has a great big heater grid in the intake horn sends a bunch of hot air into it to start but the block heater makes it a ho hum event.

Hi Wendy.

Gary

Hi Wendy.

Gary
Well we won't be using block heaters at AlumaSlider! But, at camp we can prepare for next winter. Do a little experimenting with some of those different sour mash based, oak barrel aged, anti-freeze...

Wendal sends a big smile, wave and "Hi Linda & Gary!, miss you..."

Hi Gary,

We actually camped in the B-loop because we wanted electric. The sites are definitely much nicer and more spacious than the ones on the hill.

Looking forward to meeting the group!

Safe travels,
Cathy

10 rigs.

I'm impressed and looking forward to all the good times that this get together will allow.

Exploring the Blue Ridge scenery, Stone Mt, Mt Airy, and more. And some darn fine campfires and cooking.

Nicely done folks.

Gary

Called for Booking

Called for booking at Stone Mountain, and are sites 40-49 booked? Use 50-73, or based on reading here is 44-49 still open?

Alumaslider Slide Out Society Get Together 2018

Wayne,

Loop B sites are good stuff, 40-80 and the boondocking sites in Loop C.

Loop A are dry and good for tents and small pop ups with only a few exceptions.

Our Data Officer Tom put up a nice pic showing our rigs a few posts back.

Sorry I was not clear

Are sites 40-49 pre-reserved for S/OS use, or reserved by S/0S members? If 40-49 are reserved already by S/OS start reserving from 50-80?

Hi there...As members have made reservations and posted them here I've updated the map to reflect the spot they've reserved.

Reflecting back a couple of posts we've reserved up to lot #49... Jump into anything else that's available. You'll need to make your own reservation via Reserve America...

Hope to meet you there!

Site 51

I make a point that if the GPS photo does not have an RV in the picture, but otherwise the park is almost full, there may be a reason.

Amy and I will be in site 51.
