Would that be 5-way?

Slider Food

I am thinking a 5 way, some cheese coneys, maybe a couple white castle sliders and a six pack of little kings to wash it down.

Alumaslider, pretty soon.

Sliders,

We've had two spring camp outs but we take the summer off and our next outing drum roll please......... The Inaugural Alumaslider is just a short 3 1/2 months away. Sept temps cool off just a bit and makes a nice campfire a welcome to new friends.

I'll be checking my list over and over and still forget something, that's normal for us. But big thing, have a good time and enjoy why we camp.

For those of you Sliders that aren't able to make it but like the Alumaslider idea, go for it, schedule a west coast or central edition, anywhere you like please feel free.

I'm looking forward to meeting folks and watching another one roll in, that will be a nice sight.

Now just cause its getting hot we don't stop using the AS we just schedule a backyard weekend camp out, like this weekend. So the air conditioned house mostly sits empty. Last night about 4am went in search of a light blanket.

Yikes...we'd be melting. Supposed to get our first taste of 90 today. It was a beautiful weekend here in the Granite State. Saturday was work in the yard, Sunday was enjoying the company of family.

We did a couple of longer weekends at the Salisbury Beach SP in MA. Our next scheduled camping event will be the first week of August in Warren, NH. We start our screwy summer work schedule this week so we'll try and fit some unplanned trips in every other weekend.

Big wave and smiles from the northeast!

Sounds like a great trip! Always wanted to head over to see old Rhinebeck and the many, many events they do. Things never worked out with work or something else was more of a priority. Well let's say it's on the list to see some of those old flying machines...

We'll look forward to your storytelling at AlumaSlider about the caravan north to PEI. That's gonna be a fun adventure. Be sure to give us a wave as you're passing through New Hampshire on your way to Maine. We're just a few miles east of the tolls on Rt95 in Hampton.

Brother of Noggin,

Not sure it’ll make epic but hopefully enough of a good time that folks are glad they came and talk about 2019.

Enjoying the Smokies, BRPW, Stone Mt, waterfalls, campfires, cast iron vittles and cowboy coffee.

Hey wait a minute, that just might make it epic!

Fellow Alumaslider campers,

Whoa! I just noticed Alumaslider 2018 is NEXT MONTH! Time is not flying when you are waiting for a fall camp out on the Blue Ridge Mt. area.

Here's a pretty nice slide show of Stone Mt. and the homestead. Nice series of stills.

I'll have a 3/4" drive breaker bar, hitch ball socket and wrenches for the hitch head to shank bolts if anyone wants to check them. And of course a torque wrench for lug nuts if anybody needs to check them.

Really looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old friends.

Sitting on the back porch humidity about 90 and overcast, but this fall camping in the valley.

Gary

We dry camped at Mt Pisgah last weekend, high of 75, vs the nasty heat and humidity here at home. Looking forward to seeing you all in Sept.

Sorry if I am in the wrong thread.
Saw a reference to an "Alumaslider" event in NC this September and was looking for some details.
We are currently on an extended trip and in CA. Heading E. soon.
Thanks

Booma,

This is the thread for Alumaslider.

Basic details in first post.

I haven’t looked at availability but hope you can get in. Loop B is hookups, Loop C is dry with scattered hydrants. Loop A is for tents and small pop ups and such.

Gary, and anyone else, for that matter,

After Alumaslider we will be going to our place near West Jefferson. My trip planner routed me from the park down to 16 and then 16 up to 163 into WJ. I have driven 163/16 between West Jefferson and Wilkesboro in both directions several times and I think I remember saying I wouldn't want to pull my trailer up that grade. On the other hand, I just did steep grades to 11,000 feet in Idaho so maybe it's not a problem. Do you have any experience with that route? It will only cost me 20 minutes to take 16 down to Wilkesboro (that part is flat) and then I can do the familiar drive up to the parkway on 421. I'm leaning toward that route.

Al,

Don’t think in my day trips I’ve gone that way. Mostly N Wilkesboro and Wilkesboro, Boone etc.

Even the road to N Wilkesboro etc is a few curves after a rolling hill or two. Repeat.

Al

I spoke too soon, been there https://www.ashecountycheese.com/ and hit a few shops and lunch. Pretty sure we were on BRPW coming back from Boone and detoured. But still no real help on best route while towing.

Directions to Stone Mt.

Folks,

A bit of a rain delay so thought about direction info to get there.

These are the directions from the park website https://www.ncparks.gov/stone-mounta...ark/directions
