Door Prizes Sat Evening

Alumaslider II attendees,

Saturday evening just after dinner can we all get together and have a door prize party? Something simple don't get carried away. I've got mine ready and Linda has hers almost done. Maybe Airstream related, camping, travel or cooking any simple gift you could donate as a door prize.

Folks today was the first day that when I went outside I felt a cooler morning temp, it was a pleasant start to the day. Makes you think about the start of fall camping.

Looking forward to October.

Gary & Linda

Door Prizes

We're in...but remember that the Stone Mountain Wookie could make an appearance and we might have to make an offering to keep the peace.

Looks like a lot of interest in Alumislider II this year. Unfortunately we are unable to make it this year but if it is anything like Alumislider I last year, everyone should have a great time. Just in case the subject of Alumislider III should arise around the campfire perhaps we could consider moving to Slide Mountain in the Catskills. September is off peak and usually very nice in the area. Have a great time at Stone Mountain

fltlevel510,

Sorry you can't make it. We'll have a discussion about Alumaslider III and see which way the winds blow.

More to follow.

Gary

PS, Did the Wookie scare you away? We might be able to salt his tail this year.

Su and I would like to come to the event. If someone is going to cancel would you give me a call at 203-464-2693 so we can transfer the site. We have a 66 Globetrotter so we can fit into all the campsites at this location. We've looked at the reservation site and see no open sites right now. Thanks Rob and Su Slover

Rob and Su,

Hope you can find a site. Maybe call the office and see if they have any suggestions.

I see you have a 20' trailer. IF you can camp w/o hookup the A loop sites 25 and 26 are in the trees and are 46' and 52' deep. Call park office for info on 25 and 26. The host site is right up there and they put bigger rigs in that area.

The C loop w/o hookups has water roughly every other site and those are not shaded.

Anybody cancelling, please try to contact Rob or Su.

Good luck,

Gary

PM me if there is another need for a site at Alumaslider II. I have #40 reserved for Thursday night through Sunday afternoon. I offered it to Rob & Su, but they are now going elsewhere that weekend so the site is available.

October is finally here!

We're just a short time away from Alumaslider II and enjoying the mountains. So check your checklists and get ready to enjoy Stone Mt.

Looking forward to it.

And sorry that Dave and Susan had to cancel.

Thanks to everyone for so graciously welcoming us at the Alumaslider II event. We were greeted by the “Airstream Slide-out Ambassador” (aka Gary), immediately upon our arrival. After we were setup, Gray gave us an outstanding awning inservice (we are new Airstreamers).

We learned so many tips from this great group of folks that we literally had to write them all down, because we were afraid that we wouldn’t be able to remember all of the information.

Safe sliding on down the road y’all - Melody & Dan

AlumaSlider II

I'll echo Mellie comments. It was very nice to meet everyone! We had a great time at the park and in the beautiful Blue Ridge Area. The foliage was a little behind schedule, regardless it was still great!

The trip home was a bit of a marathon, as we decided to push right on home to New Hampshire. Rain all the way back made for less than perfect conditions, and one construction slow down in PA with a 5 mile lane closure slowed us down, but we were back home just after the witching hour.

We can't wait for AlumaSlider III...

Great adventures to all!

Missed seeing everyone but the Carolina Balloonfest Rally was fun. We had 37 trailers reserving; 33 actually made it. Rain cancelled some activities but still got some great pictures of balloons over Airstreams.

Planning on sliding in for III if it gets scheduled for other than the third weekend in October.
