Alumaslider II Oct 18-20, 2019 Date confirmation.

We have attended Alumalina for many years. John and crew do a great job.

My reason for creating Alumaslider was to first focus on slide outs and have a smaller get together.

As a non slider who was graciously invited to the first Alumislider, and has attended several Alumilinas and did Statesville this year as well, I can tell you all 3 are very different experiences. Statesville is dry camping, Alumilina is crazy crowded, lots of fun, but hard to meet new folks with so many there. We loved the first slider rally, and if we would be on the East Coast next fall, this would be the event we would attend.

Alumaslider II Oct 18-20 2019

Jeff n Mary,

Special invitation extended, see post 1 for details.

Mary promised more buckwheat pancake mix next time and rumor has it that we might have cowboy coffee competition, right Tom?

Thanks,

Gary

And folks this is a smaller state park campground. We cannot reserve for you and any and all are welcome.

Well just a newbie on the Cowboy Coffee...but lot's of time between now and then to work out the kinks...

Have to get our real NH Maple Syrup again for those buckwheat pancakes...and we can't forget the bacon.

Understand so this is for "sliders only" crowd? If so, do you 'all have a "speed slide-out" competition yet? Seriously, perhaps we could try to come join the fun next year, if you didn't exclude non-slide crowd? For us in Texas, that's a hike so more chance to visit and explore the area would be great! If we were in the area, we could perhaps do all 3!

Gypsydad,

Focus was on slides as a unique sub model.

Off of the top we had 4 or 5 non slides that joined us.

Anyone that enjoys a real nice state park setting a few miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall well, stand by to make your reservation.

And Gypsydad you’re included in the open invitation.

My travels for pleasure in the USA have been a bit limited but the Blue Ridge, Smokies and that area have fast become a favorite destination.

One trailer I heard got sized up for a sawsall tin foil and duct tape conversion but didn’t happen. Mabe next year.

Thanks Gary. Are you suggesting we commit now and put on credit card thru Reserve America? If something happens and we can't make it, are we out the money or do they credit you? Havn't used them in a while...what do you suggest.

Gypsydad,

It’s not a large park and it’s a location for leaf poppers I think that’s what they are known as. Last time the park was full.

I don’t know all of the rules for reserving and cancelling I think there is a cancellation fee at least.

Take a look at the video that is linked. We even had folks fly fishing in the streams in the park. The area has lots of sight seeing and of course the Blue Ridge.

I’ll be reserving early as possible.

Gary

We will be going thru Tetons again next year also in September, but this is toward end of October...we're thinking going to this one, and driving over to visit the balloon festival for a day trip (50miles or so), and then going to Alumalina following week. Can't have too much fun nor too much Aluminum!

I reserved #46 again as a backup in case the Balloonfest Rally which I am planning to host doesn't happen. I should know this by June, or so, and will cancel if the Balloonfest is going to happen.

If we come, we will be arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday.
