I will bring bacon-ranch slaw for Thursday night. I made this at Moraine View last year.....it is yummy, and keeps well.
I will do a couple of loaves of DO bread at my site, Friday and Saturday, also some pan bread here and there.....which has worked out extremely well for me in my new solo act. Fresh bread for one, whenever I want it.
I have done a full batch of the no-knead dough, let it do the rising thing, then refrigerated it and pulled out one piece at a time over the course of the week or so it takes use it up. This has worked out beautifully, the last piece cooked as good as the first.
If anyone is interested in either or both, or has questions......
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Maggie

I have a small, fix-it issue I have been unable to resolve over the past few weeks, anyone who would like to help I would be very grateful....unless I am somehow able to fix this myself before Alumalina.
My cabinets have those snap in place things that hold the doors on....one of them has come loose and I cannot for the life of me get it re-attached.
I don't think it is broken, more likely a hand-strength and coordination issue.
That's it for me.

I suggested they remove you just to avoid issues...just kidding.
I wondered the same thing when I saw you guys were no longer on there. I just assumed you guys changed your minds or something. I bet you guys will get in...although it may be the last few days. Hope you make it.

A big thanks to John, Gary and Maggie for the suggestions and offers. I'd really like to stay at the campground another night if I can work it out. I'll pursue all of your suggestions...overflow, campgrounds, etc. John, PM me for my number or email if we need to discuss the logistics of the inconvenience of possibly coming to your place so soon after the rally. We're planning a visit with her sister Sunday afternoon, then a place to crash and burn that night (crash for the night in our trailer and burn gas the next morning).
Thanks, G

We will be bringing some vegan tube steaks for Thursday (they are quite tasty) and I will also bring some kraut for those who like it on their dogs.

...I am searching diligently for some incredibly rich, fattening and waistband expanding luscious dessert that will FAR eclipse the Italian coconut meringue cake. Suggest fasting for those of you who "think" that the possum bog is the main event..... (sorry, John!) Oh, Page, I'm salivating at the thought of some pungent Kraut on Thursday night! Barry

John, we can bring a bunch of folding tables if it helps. And a tent if needed. And we may be able to get Thor Duh to make an appearance.

Barry,
I don't have the recipe down pat, but my Grandma in SW PA used to make Sugar Pie for the kids and family get togethers.
Name says is all.

Does anyone have any idea what they are bringing for pot luck Saturday night? I was thinking about bringing fried chicken. But I can be influenced.

If you bring fried chicken you will know me - I will be sitting right next to you, trying not to look too shallow.

Brad,
your tables, tent, and Thor would be most welcome and appreciated...if you have room. Just be sure you leave room in there somewhere for Karen.
And everyone else: please bring a table and/or tent if you have one.
John

I have tentative plans to do good old, midwest-style, beef and noodles for the Saturday potluck.
Have carried with me from home a bag of spaetzle style noodles, with just this dish in mind.
Man-food, Doug would say.
Haven't looked at a weather forecast for end of March, but this is mostly done in the crock pot, so should work itself in well with weather or anything else going on that day.

I don't favor red wine, but picked up a box of Trader Joe's Shiraz, which is supposed to be quite good, and will set it out at a happy hour for tasting and sharing.
Who knows, I might become a convert.

I am a red wine drinker. Would you like to for me to pick up some white for you? Pinot Grigio or Blanc? You name it.
