Very nice photos of the two restored units. Love that kitchen up front with small dinette.

Last night around 8:00 or so, the power went out. This isn't news for any of us here, obviously, but for anybody doing armchair rallying, and wondered where we all went, now you onow.
The power came back on sometime after midnight. I don't think there was any damage, except possibly to everyone's enthusiasm. I can tell you it gets really dark here with no lights... Duh...

Evidently the entire area was without power. It was indeed dark, and with no moon, we could see all the stars. Awesome sight.

I woke up and reset my clock to 11:50. And, yes the stars were amazing.

The gust of wind the followed the outage was awesome! I never felt any wind that strong outside of a frightening storm. I presume it took down a tree onto a powerline before getting to us.

Newbie inquiry, and apologies if this isn't the best procedure for my question. My wife Kathy and I are new owners of a '72 Land Yacht Safari. We live in Brevard and want to drop in and visit the rally today but without our AS... Honestly because it needs a lot of TLC. Would it be ok to drop in today and chat with some members? We're anxious to remodel together but want to benchmark first. Thanks for any replies.

It was both visually beautiful as well as beautufully practical. Without power we relished in the fact that Wally designed everything to work without city power.

Welcome to the forum.
The rally officially ended this morning, so all you'll find are stragglers.

We just returned home from an incredible weekend in South Carolina at Alumilina!!! It was a chance to meet up with old friends while making new ones along the way.

Special thanks to John and the entire Palmetto Cove volunteers that hosted such a wonderful event.

Can't wait to see everyone again soon.

Back home after four wonderful days with new and old friends alike at a great biannual event in the Carolina mountains. Thanks to John/Susan and all the Palmetto gang who chip in to make this fun filled event possible. 'Til next time...

Back home safe and tired. Just used a new GPS and still managed to go the wrong way on our East is North marked routes. But the new GPS with backup camera did make a turn around easier to correct the I don't need no stinking directions attitude by the driver.

Sometimes a paper map just says so much more.

To the Alumalina Team movers and shakers, just keep moving and shaking. Just work on the weather forecasting skills a tiny bit more but that rain was pretty polite all things considered.

Special tip 'o the hat to Chillpoints Jon for showing his DO skills. And I think there's a quiter helper back there making a lot of it possible too, hi Allison. But there was this other guy and his Volcano DO cooking that showed ANOTHER twist to making heat sources, thanks Bruce. And still learned a new twist on a pizza oven, gotta look into how I can try my existing pizza stone and homemake the cover.

Thanks Sandpaper, Susan, Terry and Annie for all of the efforts. It takes a lot.
