Hi Fellow Airstreamers,
Just wanted to let everyone know what a great time we had. A special thanks to John and Susan and the rest of family for all the planning and hard work that went into the first "Alumalina". Also to Terry for his invaluable knowledge and willingness to help so many of us out.
What a great group of people. It was a pleasure to be able to spend time with all of you.

I spoke with Fantastic yesterday, and they had indeed changed a few things. I now have updated instructions for the modification I attempted with no results other than a rise in my blood pressure...

Carowinds Double Rainbow
I was able to get a few pics of the wonderful double rainbow over the Airstreams.

Thanks to all. Carl and I (and Chloe) had a blast, glad it worked out for our schedule. As the last ones to leave (drove off this morning) - thought we'd share what the 'strip' looked like once everyone had gone. With any luck, the attached photo will show. It was an absolutely picture perfect day yesterday (naturally), too. I have typed up the listing of names/contact info. I just want to add the forum nicknames and ensure I have all the details accurate (penmanship...ugh). Then I'll send along to all - for those who want an electronic version of the listing. Thanks to all the Leakes and everyone who put time and effort into the weekend. Nancy and Carl.

Wow, now that's a sad sight. Being the aluminum nut that I am, I sure enjoyed looking up & down the strip, seeing the double row of trailers. The most exciting part was watching everyone roll in. No doubt about it, there is something special about an Airstream pulling in, winding through the campground , then slipping into it's berth. Susan and I were one of the last to leave, so we watched most pull out. Bummer. But, we're already talking about the next one.

Hey Yall,
Just wanted to say what a great time we had last weekend at the rally. For two Texans you all opened your hearts up to us big time.
I like to think that the rain and hail just brought us all closer together - we had to crowd into the middle to get out of the drips.
Special thanks to John and Susan and their family for doing the hard work to make it fun for all of us. Also to Terry for his technical mastery.
We have headed up to the BlueRidge Parkway and have had a couple of great days cruising and hiking. Be sure to look us up at Alumapalooza if you can make it out there.

It was a sad site, especially since the day was so brilliant. I imagine it was the total opposite as we all 'streamed' in. Great job, John, really - good stuff. Nancy

And will someone explain to me what "sandlapper" means - apparently, it's something and everyone else either knows or is too shy to ask. Not me...dumb and from New England...so - 'splain, Ricky, please!!

Nancy, our info on the list is correct. We also have CP. Thanks for taking the time to type it up. I couldn't make out some of the hand written list either, we could all use some lessons in penmanship.
"Sandlapper" is an nickname for a South Carolinian. It goes way back. Being a native, I have heard it all my life so thought it would fit me well here on the forums. If you Google sandlapper there is a lot of info. John

So my post w the listing got deleted, too much personal data included. My apologies to all for putting sensitive data out there for the masses. I will clean up what I have and will send the info via email directly to those who listed an email. Live, post, and learn. Nancy

Nancy, this was so nice of you to offer to do this...and I was MAJORLY impressed that you printed out copies of it for us. Really nice to put faces and names to so many folks I've gotten to know on this Forum! Barry

Nancy,
We really appreciate the time you took to type all this up. I suspect you are quite the proficient typist.
Nice to be able to put names to faces and Forums names.
Maggie

Maggie...I am using your handmade, beautifully crocheted dishcloth. What a kind and thoughtful gift....and I'll probably need a new one by the time we do the next rally!

I'm feeling much better now. Not any more rested, just better...
The individual that caused the issue we were discussing was overruled and told not to make policy decisions.
