…..for patiently waiting for the schedules and other info. I finally have some info to share and it looks great.

Susan and I visited the facility again last week and it is awesome. We will have virtually the entire park. 400 sites.

No mud, rocks, sticks, stumps, or roots. The grass is thick, green, and mowed like carpet. A river runs through it. The Blue Ridge Mountains should be flushed out in spectacular fall colors.

We have several exciting new twists this year and will lay it all out in the next few days. Hang in there.

Every row is the main row so plan on hosting your beer garden again this year. We will post a sign with time and location so all that want to can come.

To beer lovers everywhere, the ''Bring-a-Beer-Get-a-Beer'' is an opportunity to taste different craft beers from all over, so if you have one, bring one, get one, and enjoy.

Oh.... and yes, we think we have enough possum to feed the masses.

9:00-12:00 SEMINARS…We have some great ones planned & will publish them on a separate list.

1:00-4:00 CRAFTS FAIR, FLEA MARKET, PAROOZING . Enjoy the afternoon meeting more of your neighbors. Get out, explore the area. Downtown Marion, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt Mitchell, Asheville, Black Mountain.

ALUMALINA: SOME GOOD THINGS TO KNOW

TOM JOHNSON CAMPING 1885 US 70 WEST MARION, NC

Tom Johnson Rally Park features rally style parking, meaning side by side, back to back, in rows. Everyone has their own full hook up. We will all be close neighbors but with ample room to open awnings, set up camp, and park your tow vehicle.

We have sites near the Pavilion and Bath House designated as handicap. Let us know if you need one, we are happy to oblige.

No one needs an invitation to join in on a ‘’neighborhood block party’’. Make yourself at home, enjoy each other, it’s why we are here.

Camping World is located at the front of the property. In the SERVICE CENTER on the other side of the bridge is a very nice CAFÉ, open for breakfast and lunch.

Kayak/Canoe put in/take out docks are located above and below the park.

Marion NC is a town of approximately 8500 people and is the county seat for McDOWELL COUNTY. Elevation 1400’. By contrast, Mt Mitchell, only app 30 miles away, is 6683’. Highest point east of the Rockies.

The nearest grocery, fuel, restaurants, and Lowes are only 1.5 miles away east of the park. Downtown Marion about 5 miles away to the east.

Nearest Veterinarian: ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF MARION 1885 US 70 West, app 1 mile east of the grounds. 828.724.4774

Nearest URGENT CARE is McDOWELL URGENT CARE 472 Rankin Drive Marion

While you are here be sure to check out downtown Marion, Asheville, Black Mountain, the Blue ridge Parkway, and Mount Mitchell.

The Campground will furnish wood for the fire pit at the pavilion. If you want a camp fire at your trailer it must be in an above ground raised pit, no ashes on ground. Safety first.

Please mark any dishes/serving utensils you bring, and don’t forget to pick them up after the meals.

We encourage everyone to wear a name badge of some sort, so we can all put a face with the name. We will have some available if you need one.

We have a complete rally packet waiting for you at the Registration Table, under the pavilion, with all the information you will need for a great weekend.

Park anywhere you would like, we will have folks to help if needed. Please bring your site number to registration.

After you settle in drop by to register and pick up your packet at one of these times:

I am happy to report we have negotiated a rally rate parking fee of $32 per night, full hook up, payable to Tom Johnson Camping with Cash, Check, or Credit Card. We will point the way to their payment office.

The Rally fee this year remains a bargain at $50 per rig, regardless of how many are with you, or $25 for single, to cover expenses. Payable by cash or checks made to Alumalina. Sorry, we have no CC machine for Alumalina.

All group activities will be under the Pavilion unless otherwise noted.

Please bring your SET UPS to the meals (Plates, utensils, drink, etc.)

We have a great rally planned, including meals, seminars, open house, craft/flea markets, group therapy, and much more. So please don’t be shy, make yourself at home, get out and meet your neighbors, explore the area, and have a wonderful time. If you need any assistance just let us know.

I am very happy to announce that Micro Air will be on site with us this year. They will have a booth, seminar, information available, and can install their fabulous Soft Start on your air conditioner at a rally rate. We are not allowed to publish the costs here on the Forums so bring along about 3 Ben Franklins.

If you are not familiar with Micro Air or their Soft Start, do yourself a favor and check them out. It allows you to run your AC with a single 2000 generator.

Also,

SkyMed will have a seminar and representative with us again this year.

Ultimate Airstreams, the only Airstream, Inc approved custom Airstream dealer, will be represented.

Funny responses aside (and I did chuckle), the camping area is HUGE so I assume that lots of camping is available away from the crowd.

As I recall from just a quick visit, the main parking area is like a full service parking lot with imaginary double-spaced lines, so basically nothing between campers. And back-to-back...
