Good question... At my age I have discovered I no longer wish to do all the hooking, unhooking that a tow behind requires. And, dry camping was a large part of my RV'ing adventures, overnights at the Flying J on long trips, all which require a generator and of course, Airstreams have none.

Thus a Class C/B+ was the decision I made last year. While the Atlas was an interesting option, I do not like the Murphy bed floor plan, prefer more windows. Thus, I decided on the most sought after Class B+, the one AS literally copied for their Atlas, a Leisure Travel Van from Canada. The floor plan I ordered was the corner bed which allows lots of windows, a feature high on my list.

My saga is this: Ordering an LTV Unity U24CB last October, changing to a 2019 unit in December results in a delivery date of November 2018. An 11 month waiting list for these.

Alumalina is IMO about folks who are primarily in AS, but also I think about folks who are quite open minded and just like to get together and have a good time for all. And, as there is no Airstream which meets my needs, I am very much appreciative of the fact I can still join up. Heck, I have bought three new AS, so have in a way paid my dues.

Hopefully I can make a contribution as in some snapshots shown here of previous Alumalina's.

I looked at the video on the 24CB and I'm impressed. It seems very well thought out and well equipped. I really like the way they did the pantry (our 25 had one and we miss it on the 30) and the shower. I hope you love it. Looking forward to meeting you. I have enjoyed looking at your photos, Airstream and racing too!

Yep.....Alumalina has gone to the dogs

And speaking of dogs, there is plenty of room for the dogs and their peeps to roam. There are open areas, wooded areas, and the river trail...all right there in the park. You will like it, the dogs will love it.

And.... I will be bringing a camera with the idea of doing more dog photos, but also, capturing possibly a large shot of all the folks who are at Alumalina for the first time.

FYI.... dogs are so much more comfortable infant of the camera than humans....

I will be making motel reservations this afternoon to assure I get there for the best rally around, AS or SOB, IMO...

Brad and I will have to cancel. We bought a house in New Hampshire and we’ll be moving there in October. We’re both from New England so we know snow but it’s been a long time since I owned boots!😄 Hope to catch an Alumilina in the future. Thanks John and crew for all your hard work on these events.

Hello Alumalina Attendees,

Last year I promised John Leake that I would plan some arts/crafts activities for this year’s Alumalina. I’m planning to do some demonstrations on quilting, knitting, and traditional rug hooking, as those are my crafts.

I’ll have information on the arts and crafts happenings in the Asheville area including one of the very best fiber arts fairs in the nation, the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair, which runs from October 26th-28th in nearby Fletcher, NC. https://saffsite.org
