We have added a big pot of pinto beans to Friday's menu (main course is the Possum bog).

Asking any DO cooks that can to prepare cornbread.


One note of caution on the DO cooking. The Cove does not allow open ground fires unless it is in a raised fire pit.....same goes for the DO coals, they request we protect the ground surface. Understandable, they have beautiful, thick grass.

The big fireplace at the pavilion might be a very good place to cook.

At work we were talking about companies making 12 year-old Scotch, and the first year, we figured they can sell it as paint remover. I hope the 12 years was good for the liquid inside.

O BOY, I'm getting ready to head out tomorrow morning and I just realized - got everything BUT the charcoal. Oh well, off to the grocery store first thing before I leave. I'll probably arrive Wednesday around noon as 500 miles is too much for me to attempt in one day.

It's been a roller coaster - had a tire that was slow leaking on the trailer - got it repaired, then Sunday it lost air again. So I switched and got the spare on, and bought a new Michelin for the regular rim. Boy the nuts were over-torqued from the repair, I could have pushed out twins from the strain of getting them cracked loose! I'm going to ride in on the spare if I can't find a garage to change them out again tomorrow morning... I'm too stiff and sore from the original change out to do it again. Whew.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the rally, so thank you for all your efforts to keep getting the last minute people in. It should be a great time, even if it is cold or rains.

Hey guys, probably not the right place to put this, so delete it from here if need be...but I have a Hensley "Cub" hitch for sale that literally looks like new. Been used twice. The Cub is for trailers up to 6,000 pounds. If someone is real interested, I can bring it to the event as I'm coming anyway. I only mention it here because you don't want to ship this 170 lb hitch.
