I'm just seeing this thread also. Did an RSVP elsewhere and then saw the list posted here...WOW!!! Is there room for more??? We are pushing to get our AS ready and would need FHU - not ready to even attempt boondocking as this would be our maiden voyage. Close to home too...I think. We are north of Charlotte.

Pets are allowed but must be maintained on a leash at all time. Be aware there are a few areas of the park off limits to pets. If you have specific questions concerning pet rules, call the campground host at: (864) 836-6221

Avionstream - Sorry you won't be coming to Alumalina. I've attended three in the past and haven't been aware of any politics at the rally but then I try not to engage in political conversations at these rallies. If the issue is the moderators on Airforums, I'm not aware they have anything to do with the rally. It has always been organized and run by a few forums members in SC, but I don't think they have any moderating role or official capacity with the organization.

In any event, wishing you safe travels and good weather wherever the road takes you.

All is well, just want to get away from the politics on the forums and the selective deleting of posts usually on only one side of an issue. Enjoy the rally and thanks for the info. Good camping. Ps, the deleted posts were on the Volkswagen thread.

Just in case you've wondered where I've been, Susan and I have been off grid since Friday. Looks like I missed some really good stuff. I will attempt to catch up.

First: absolutely no politics at Alumalina. Not even allowed.

Ever.

Period.

Only happy thoughts.

That includes anything even remotely controversial.

Aluminum as first language.

We have nothing to do with the Forums or it's moderators, except that we are grateful to them for providing this means of communication. Alumalina could not happen w/o it. Thank you Airforums.

Darn sure don't have anything to do with Volkswagen. They have their own problems.

Our one and ONLY mission is to bring together anyone/everyone that shares the same passion for Airstreams.

No negative vibes. Again....only happy thoughts.

Second: Thank you Dave and Chuck for stepping in for me, couldn't have said it better.

Chuck, you are phenomenal with the movie. I can barely type, with 2 fingers, you make movies.

We will likely be at capacity at the Cove but we will make room for anyone that want's to come. It is a large park, with lots of space on beautiful thick, green grass, and we are working on a plan to offer dry camping at a reduced rate if necessary.

This is the 8th edition of Alumalina. Started with 22 trailers, now 135 'ish.

The proof is in the numbers.

To the best of my knowledge no one has ever come away disappointed.

Guaranteed fine time.

Great food, fun, fellowship, aluminum...... just a darn good time.

You will like it.

If anything goes wrong with the Host's work at the Rally (parking, etc), it's my fault. We visited the Cove Sunday (to scope out our route and also parking since Cheryl gets very agitated by any backing), and interrupted their planning meeting! What a great bunch of people! They _had_ to show us the lounge area, the firepit, the covered patio, and of course the meeting room/kitchen (where they were trying to have their meeting).

By the way, if you make the mistake of following your GPS "shortest route" (like me), prepare in advance a couple miles of narrow twisty-turnies. My advice: follow the directions provided, and do not miss the turn-off (apparently goes up to what some might describe as an eagle's nest: I understand they had to work with State Troopers to get someone back down one time).
