John I can see that grin of yours from here, the secret is out! Alumilina has become the best little Rally in the South! Might wanna start thinking about a bigger Venue for Fall. Gosh I just wished a year away, is it March yet?

OK, so who knows or has a link to the local newspapers or TV stations??

I'd be willing to write up and deliver a press release.

Might also share with the State Parks Dept, as they might use this sort of news in their own promotions. Then again, if you think that this is a big crowd, just wait until next year!

Inviting the Rangers is always a good idea....

Growing pains, it's a good thing!!!

The rising sucess of Alumalina just goes to show that Airstream folks in this part of the country were ready for an opportunity to gather. Before, there just wasn't one. We are of course thrilled and excited for the shared enthusiasm it has generated.

The great people that attend make this rally what it is.......fantastic.

I already had thoughts of inviting the local newspaper, they are always looking for those great human interest stories. I will follow up on that. Joe, you can be our official liason. Maybe we need to get the TV station to fly over in their helicopter to take some ariel pictures of all the aluminum. I, for one, would love to see it from above, except I'm not going up in the air, a nice picture would suit me just fine.

I am certain the Park staff is very happy we are coming. Not only are we filling up their park, which helps them, but they must surely breathe a sigh of relief knowing that as Airstreamers, we will probably leave their facility in better condition than we found it. Or at least we won't tear it up.

This is one of the few times I want Christmas to get here soon, since once it clears out, March is just around the corner!!

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Roy, glad you can make it down our way, it's a nice park and a darn good time.

I will be down there next weekend and will quiz the ranger on how we are looking for site availability for maybe other SE Unit members. I'm betting you will sign on more than a few new members.

Let me know if you need anything.

John,

Yesterday on a road near my house I picked up a possum and a raccoon. I thought the raccoon would add some more flavor to the bog. We just need a skinning crew. The group is growing. We will need more possums!

Anyone for armadillo? Perhaps someone coming from Florida or Texas could bring one for added flavor.

Matt, glad to have you and Beth join us, hope you can come early and stay late.

A note to everyone: your length of stay is only limited by your site availability, which is very likely open on both sides of the weekend. So, if you have the time, come stay awhile.

John,

I have been in contact with Beth the last couple of days about an Associate membership in Southeastern Camping Group and mentioned this morning she and Matt might like to come to your humble spring rally? I am glad they made the decision to join in the fun at Lake Wateree SP.

The positive item about possums is they do not hibernate in the winter months. The down side is you have to get them late at night when they are out hunting for food and crossing roads. Of course you can hunt them over bait? Fresh corn in the middle of a divided highway?

When I was growing up in Oklahoma we always turned the females loose to insure future a food source. John you were correct about the country possums feeding on natural organic food. But it is tough catching possums up in the mountains once they leave the highway right a way? Maybe the possums should come from the low country? Doesn't Gary live in the Low Country of SC? I had another idea, I will start asking my Blue Ridge Mountain neighbors about the availability of ground hogs. But it may to early for them, I think they hibernate during the winter months. I will be thinking of another protein source for the possum bog?

Be Prepared

Big Hooter, you sure do know your possum. Along with the other commitee chairmen, I name you Possum Chairman.

And Pam, round is good. We need a little fiberglass to keep us honest.

35 on board, only 14 sites left

a check tonite, only 14 sites left. They will not last long so get busy if you are considering, we don't want you to miss out.

If there is anyone out there that has reserved, but hasn't posted, give us a shout so we can put you on the list, and we can idenify the non aluminum sites. If things continue, we may have 50 of the 69 sites.
