Maggie, I am planning a rerun on the Italian Meringue cake that you missed at Lake Wateree. I'll swap you a piece for your bread!! Oh, and I am taking SilverLeaf down to Stone Mtn for a week in mid-Nov. I did winterize (sort of), and we've already had heavy frost....but I am just not ready to put it up on blocks -- yet. Well, and a trip to FL in December also. Best to you and Doug! Barry

Barry,

I saw a picture of that cake and was hoping you would make it again.

You may certainly have some of my bread, no trade necessary.

Enjoy your travels. We are done til January, and that is okay.

Be safe,

Maggie

Yep, that's 22 with 5 months to go.

Friends, at this rate the park will very likely fill up. Last time I checked there were 34 sites left. That sounds like a lot but not really. It is a popular park and the rally is on a roll, too. If you are contemplating coming, be sure to keep a check on site availability via the Lake Wateree web site. It will show all the available sites, along with a picture and brief description.

Remember also that they are all good sites and non are out of ear shot of the gathering point.

And Kathy, glad Ronnie is on board again. We want him as part of the Possum bog crew along with Henry. 2 good low country boyz, they know how to cook up great possum.

That's good news on the DO cooking, we want to expand it to at least Friday nite and Saturday am. There may be some folks that don't like possum bog so we want them to have a choice. Baked possum. Gary C will coordinate.

We are still on go to have the big fish fry on Saturday afternoon, probably around 5'ish.

Backing up a bit, many folks are coming in on Thursday so we will have the hot dog feast once again.

Come early, stay late.

John

A sea of Silver it will be, along the banks of old Wateree. Friends rolling in from far and near, for a taste of the possum, soon to be seared. March is coming, don't be late. Hit the reserve button now, or you'll be on the other side of the gate..............

Thumbs up Alumalina Rally is rolling, it must be the Possum Bog?

Paula and Larry,

We (Anne & John) are excited to hear you all are in for another Alumalina adventure in March. This should be a lot of relaxation, fun & fellowship plus Spring busting out around the park. Not to speak of the great food dishes that show up for pot luck dinner.

I am looking forward to the Dutch Oven cooking talks. It will be impressive to see all of our silver bullets parked in the pines of Wateree State Park, bring your sun glasses.

I have noted that Road Runner and family are going to come back to SC to get away from the snow in PA. If we play our cards right we they may want to move into this part of the country?

It is a fact that Sandlapper and his wife, gives a HOOT about Air Stream traveling and camping.

See you down the road, be safe.

Hey you 2 , congrats on snagging one of the premo waterfront sites. You just may not want to leave.

We , too, look forward to seeing all the Alumalina alumni and meeting new folks. the Airstream family is the best part of Airstreaming.

Had a great conversation yesterday with the clerk at the Park. I was calling to make a reservation for an upcoming weekend.

She recognized my voice from our many conversations. She was chuckling about how many calls she had gotten from all the airstreamers comng to the rally. She said everyone wanted to know where the best sites were, and how close to the action they could get. She assured everyone not to worry, they were all good and everyone was in the thick of it.

I got a kick out of it. She is so nice, so friendly and helpful, and excited at our coming. One of SC's finest.

That's great news Ken, glad you and Barbara will be able to tear yourselves away from sunny Florida to join us for the entire rally this time. You will have a nice tan to go along with those good looking shirts you are always sporting.

We're gonna need an extra day.

Folks,

I PM'ed the Grand Exhalted Possum King, Sir Sandlapper and he wagged his Possum tail of approval for this addition to the rally.

Helping hand time.

Do you have a small maintenance or repair project on your trailer that you need some help with, or just need a bit of been there done that experience to fix that widget that the doohickey used to hook too?

One thing in my time here on Airforums, somebody probably has already fixed whats puzzling you and can make it easy.

Well if you need a hand and have the part for that small project, post the job and maybe somebody has the left handed metric reverse threaded spanner that you didn't know made the job five minutes instead of five hours. But if the guy or gal with the tool doesn't know that you need the help, guess where the tool is? Yup, at home in the shop.

Here's an example of a simple but maybe not comfortable project, how's your trailer 7 blade connector? Good condition, not corroded, tight blades etc? Its only 7 wires but maybe electrical ain't your cup of tea. Need a torque wrench to check your lug nuts?

So keep it doable in our short time together, be realistic and maybe the job can be a minor project instead of a PITA! Share your skills.

Now that ya mention Gary.....seems there has been 4 big boxes of what looks to be Solar panels that have mysteriously appeared in "MY" storage room.......... I'm sure Darrel would love a hand or 10 installing these things P.S. I blame Barry for his knew found fondness of Solar gadgetry...........

Kate, the "extra day" is just a figure of speech, meaning any day that you come, and there is time to do it, we will join forces to help with those chores Gary is referring to. Just a little helping hand on some of the minor yet sometimes intemidating things that go along with Airstreaming. Not everyone is handy.

Sort of a maintenance rally. Not gonna drop any belly pans, or do a shell off, or do brake jobs/bearing packs, or replace any panels.......

This, along with our usual seminars, should make for some beneficial time.

And of course, we will always have plenty of play time!!

Possum John
