I'm glad you're hungry, Gary, cuz I'm gonna be bakin' lots of bread!

Altho a bit dark, , the crust on this one was better than the first road loaf....a crispy/chewy crust, interior soft and perfectly done. Yum.

We're going to have the # of briquettes down in the next couple of loaves.

So fun.

OVEREAGER! I just callee Lake Wateree to change my reservations. Decided to arrive on the 27th and leave on the 31st. No site change, still in 21. So, for those of you who are early bird arrivals, you can look for Barry and the "basset girls - the BG's - Nola and Rhoda" on Thursday. Oh, and we're hitching up SilverLeaf - truck and trailer - on the 21st and heading to FLORIDA on 21 January. Look for us on 95 as we rocket by looking for warmer temperatures! (Hmmmm,, this'll be the THIRD time I've "de-winterized" since November, but I'm looking forward to flushing out the pink gunk as it means VACATION!) Barry

I picked up two of these silicone finger grips at WalMart a couple of weeks ago.

About $4 apiece, small and perfect for lifting pans or loaves of bread out of your DO.

They work great, and can be easily stowed with your DO.

I see other places selling these online in pairs, some with a thumb insert on one side.

thursday

I'll be in on Thursday as well. I will try and get the "bring a beer-take a beer" staion at my trailer set up. I also plan on cooking ribs, at least four racks so stop by and introduce yourself. BTW the waiting seems forever! John

Talking Soothing my regrets

John,
Although Di and I won't be able to attend I discovered a way to be there in spirit, . Last weekend went so the furthest reaches of NC and bought a 74 Argosy 26. 5 hrs of driving only to discover a driveway at least 1/2mi long at a 12 degree uphill pitch, solid ice and snow. Not one to let a little hill deter me went to the top and found this IMG_20131229_141851.jpg

Great looking Argosy. I guess the driveway issue was to make sure that you really wanted it. Good thing that you weren't towing it up a 12 degree snow and ice covered drive. Looks like they cleared the snow and ice from around the trailer for you.

Argosy

Sadly the trailer is still a 1/2 mi up a 12 degree driveway. Waiting for PO to call me when driveway is snow/ice free. Don't think it will be ready to use by then. But, hey with "global warming" I'm sure it will be an early spring.

Well heck Steve, we know it isn't gonna thaw out any time soon. Weatherman says more cold coming.

Now I'm just hoping for semi warm weather for the rally.

BTW, I love that stripe on the side of your Argosy. Is that original or custom? Looks really good.
