There is no symbolism or hidden meaning associated with the SOB's being black. My drawing software comes with a library of shapes and symbols including a black trailer. Months ago I created a silver trailer from the standard black symbol to use for the map I made for another rally. When I decided to add the non-Airstream trailers to the Lake Wateree map it was easier to use the default black trailer symbol than to create another. Plus, as my friend Big Hooter (John) pointed out, black stands out better than white on a creme background.

One thing about free labor. You have to take what you get and be happy with it.

If you build it, they will come

Give yourself a raise Chuck, darn nice work on the map. I am still hoping some of those black trailers will turn out silver. When I originally checked on possible dates with the park, a few sites were already taken for our weekend. But only a few, so maybe some black turns silver.

Yep Barry, hard to believe our little back yard party has grown so much. Alumanitus is at near epidemic stages here in the Carolinas. It has even spread outside our boundaries.

We will voluntarily quarrentine ourselves the last weekend in March, in a grove of trees, on the side of a lake, and take our medicine. (I prefer mine in liquid form).

After the first of the year we will work on the details.

Wow!

I am in AWE! I just made my reservation today. If I held out or did not see this until Monday, I might have missed out! I am so looking forward to meeting some of the most hardcore possum lovers out there. A few questions so I can begin to plan. You do (of course) have happy hours daily at 4 (RIGHT?) gotta stock up now on wine and spirits. I pour a VERY GOOD Manhatten! I plan on bringing some NJ local brews, a Jerzy welcome station if you will. Ice will be accepted as tip. I have a dutch oven, what do I need to know about cooking with lump charcoal? Cause I think I better pratice! 50 plus Airstreams/ Airstreamers- lookout Wateree! MPJ

I would be delighted to swap some local Georgia brews for some local NJ brews, or elsewhere for that matter!

I have a Prosecco and frozen raspberries concoction that I am dying to try...don't you just love Prosecco?

Hope the weather will be warm enough for cold drinks, rather than hot whiskies.

Mpj,

Ya know what they say,"all the planning in the world can never replace dumb luck!!"

Glad you found us, we are looking forward to the meet up.

Yep, happy hour starts whenever you want it to, but no later than 4. There will undoubtably be some local southern comfort there, along with the regular shelf stuff.

Our now almost famous Rita will be there Sat afternoon for another guest performance.

Just bring you iron, there will be plenty of good hep/instruction available.

And yes, ya gotta like possum. Fried, baked, boiled, stewed............

Wateree as never before.

Possum King

We too are looking forward to this Airstream get together. We went ahead and signed up too for the AlumaFlamingo in February, so we are really getting a chance to meet everyone!

And while we are based out of Colorado Springs, CO., its just too cold to be back home right now :-)
So we are currently staying with friends (on their land) in York, SC., and then taking bi-weekly trips along the eastern seaboard. We just got back from 7 days at Boyds campground in Key West, FL- ready to head back to warm weather :-)

As we have been full-timing in ours since Sept., this will be a great way to meet and great and exchange tips and stories.

Will not be able to attend the gathering in March. Camped at Lake Wateree last week, and it reached 80 on Friday. Will attend the event next fall.

Black turns to silver (almost)

Site 28 belongs to Charlotte and her vintage Holiday Rambler, coming in on Thursday. Charlotte attended the Fall gathering in a tent.

So we count her silver.

Good for you, Charlotte, glad to have you back.
