Nope, but I might be wishing I had the 8' bed when I get the firewood added. Plus just put new Michelin's on it too.

You know it's a Cummins, Load the wagon, don't worry 'bout the Mule. A semi famous bumper sticker from the Dodge Cummins crowd.

Hope to try out the newest used piece of cast iron this weekend.

Never seen an oil stove running like Arrow has, seen 'em but never running.

Back in the way-back machine, Sherman! Actually, the big pot was one of three used for doing laundry on Saturday. The kerosene stove was one of those modern conveniences that allowed my Grandmother to cook out on the side porch during the summer months, rather than heating up the whole house by using the (wood burning) stove and oven in the kitchen. And this was what bath day (Saturday) looked like in 1926 (my Dad’s the second from the left).

I think John was working on overflow parking, BeachHouse, and you could also probably bring a tent and squeeze that in somewhere.

Ham is in the oven, table is set, cookies are plated, etc, etc. Waiting on kids and grands to arrive.

And so, in and amongst baking a coffee cake for breakfast this morning and getting cookies decorated for dinner today, I baked this loaf of bread that I had mixed and set to rise yesterday.

Why am I baking bread on Christmas morning, you ask? Why, because we have no bread!!...and have eaten nothing but this homemade since I started working with this dough 6 weeks or so ago. Store-bought simply will not do.

This one used a cup of 7 grain bread flour and I added 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds. Haven't cut it yet, but may add a couple of drops of sesame oil to the next one. Sesame is such a yummy, hearty flavor.

This loaf baked right-side up.

Have a wonderful holiday, y'all.

Maggie
