Glad you can join us, haven't heard anymore from Kingfisher but sure it will all work out. The Park shows full on their web site but there are always cancellations.
And don't worry at all, possum tastes just like chikken. It does help to close your eyes though.

The park web site shows all full, but don't give up, there are most nearly always cancellations if you are looking for a site.
An added bonus to the seminar schedule.....Roadrunner Bob has offered to demo his polishing techniques. He is bringing his tools and know how so don't miss this one.
And we will once again have some of the Alumalina t- shirts for sale at cost. A good Hanes Beefy T. L & XL, some white, some blue.

Just in case...
you need cell phone coverage, sorry to say it is slim to none at the park. Some parts are a little better but mostly it is dead zone. It is about 10 country miles from the Interstate.

don't give up or get lost
It is 10 miles (seems like 20) of SC back country to get to the park. It is well marked but just in case:
I77 Exit 41 You will see the big brown Lake Wateree SP sign
East 2.5 miles to SC Hwy 21.
Hard left on 21.
Go 2 miles on 21, see sign for a right turn on River Road to the Park.
5 miles down River Road to the park entrance on your left. You will cross over a bridge at Taylors Creek just before the entrance.
Once you enter the Park and cross over the causeway, the campground entrance is on your left. They request you continue straight ahead to the office/tackle shop to check in before setting up on your sight. It will only take a couple minutes to check in.
Site numbers are painted in yellow at the entrance to each site but they are some what difficult to see.
We will be looking for you and will help if you need it, especially after dark. It is not a huge park, just 1 loop, and easy to settle in to. Most sites have nice, wide entrances.
It is a state park so it gets very dark in there once the sun goes down. We have a Big Moon to enjoy but some light will be helpful.

Been trapping possum all week for the tasty delight. Caught four possum and a polecat...had to let the polecat go though cause Layne says he was stinking up the place. You want me to bring the pork brains to go with the scrambled eggs?
