Breakfast

Guys and Gals,

I offered to do something and this is the idea. I'll bring the 20" skillet and get setup for some pancakes for one of the breakfasts. John might help pick the day. But this was this weekend just for fun. Might bring the big coffee pot, not this little stove top version.

Pancakes, sausage, syrup and cup of Joe.

Is it time to hook up yet?

Gary

Gary, I was in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago (Airstreaming, of course), and I picked up a quart of REAL maple syrup. I'll contribute that to the pancake event! Barry

Barry,

A gift from nature. I was thinking about it too, but haven't won the lottery yet. I grew up west of Cleveland and actually tapped trees in our yard and made syrup and candy several years. Most excellent. I'll most likely make buckwheat pancakes too.

Janet,

Very nice. Now the heat is on to make it all happen. We have the technology! And the firewood.

Thanks,

Is it time to hook up yet?

...I will be displaying all the "upgrades" done to SilverLeaf since 2012. Today, I finished installing four 100 watt solar panels along with all the gear that goes with it. AND, since the roof is now pretty much covered up with "stuff" I won't have to worry about hail anymore!

Just checking in

Been a while, thought I would touch base.

A quick check of the campground shows 26 out of 69 sites left with about 2 months to go. It is a popular park and good chance it will fill up.

Here's the list I have:

Phil and Sue

GCinSC2

Towjob1975

StreamNTyme

Safari Streamer

Sandlapper

Road Runner

Captain Hank

TerryandAnn

StanandLynn

Oledawg

BAB

McCrosti

Big Hooter

Chime in if I left you out.

We will have Friday nite supper ready, likely a squirrel stew, so no one has to prepare much. Maybe some basic, easy sides. Just roll in, set up, hang out.

The sites are all paved, nice pull throughs/easy back ins, mostly level (some sites may need a board). It is a State Park so it is dark at night,
bring your party lights. And your bicycle/water craft for land/sea adventures. You will like this place.

Mostly bring your SMILE . Good time guarenteed or you get to skin the Possums next March.

For those of you already reserved, good move. For those undecided, don't let the 26 remaining sites get away. They very likely will.

Later.............

Possum John

if i were to reserve a spot for this rally, of those remaining is there one better than another?

we are planning a fall trip and this seems as good a focal point as there could be...

any thoughts

thanks

There are really no bad sites. We go there often and have stayed all over the place. The water front sites are always taken, so we have come to enjoy the "back" section. If you pull up their web site you will see the map, the CG is 1 oval shaped loop. The back section is all good. We are mostly in the 50's and up for the rally.

Some of our fav's:

1,3,5,9,11.13,15,17,21,23,26,34,29,42,44,50,54,55, 57,59,61,65,67

Of course, these are many other folks fav's also.

But have no fear, they are all good, especially when surrounded by friends.

You can reserve online or call directly to the office, the # is on an early post.

The road and sites are all paved, mostly level, heavily wooded, water/elec, firerings. Some pull thrus, mostly long, deep easy backins.

Great paddeling, hiking, biking, walking, fishing. Camp store with the basics.

SC law says no alcohol in any St Parks. We (and everyone else) just put it in a cup or coozie and don't flaunt it. Has never been an issue at all. It has always been live and let live down there.

Sooooooooo, come on down, enjoy one of SC's best parks. You will like it.

And the Rally ain't bad either.

John

the plan is in motion

we booked site #60 for the rally dates....

our fall trip will have this rally as the "go to" center point. we think we want to head out after labor day and focus on arriving in savannah about sept 10th and then just meander up to myrtle beach and then to the rally on the 20th.

any neat things in savannah and then along the way to myrtle beach that would fill the ten days...

we have never been in this area...so this trip will get us acquainted with the north end of the southeast and then we plan to make a voyage to the canopener rally in january and explore the points south.

and so it goes
