I have booked site #62 for myself, SilverLeaf, and Rhoda -- who just completed 6,200 miles as the Airstreaming basset hound. Looking forward to seeing all of you....and I am making the assumption that there will be NO HAIL like we had at my first Alumalina last year at Carowinds! Barry

John,

I volunteered, I'll be getting with you and see what's on your idea list. Just don't make me fish for our dinners, we might be eating the bait instead.

Can I hook up now?

Gary

Just checking in

A quick check on the Park website shows over half the sites already taken for our weekend. It is a popular park and will likely fill before the date arrives. If you are considering coming, might not be a bad idea to go ahead and reserve. 2 nites about 45 bucks and can be cancelled or changed if you can't make it.

Also, we are now on the Rally calender at the bottom of the Portal page, so if you could RSVP it would sure help with planning. Gotta know how many squirrels to round up for the stew. It takes about 4 squirrels to equal 1 possum.

Thanks all.

John

My neighbor got three coons this week. I will throw them in the freezer for you after I get them out of the trash.

Breakfast

Guys and Gals,

I offered to do something and this is the idea. I'll bring the 20" skillet and get setup for some pancakes for one of the breakfasts. John might help pick the day. But this was this weekend just for fun. Might bring the big coffee pot, not this little stove top version.

Pancakes, sausage, syrup and cup of Joe.

Is it time to hook up yet?

Gary

Gary, I was in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago (Airstreaming, of course), and I picked up a quart of REAL maple syrup. I'll contribute that to the pancake event! Barry

Barry,

A gift from nature. I was thinking about it too, but haven't won the lottery yet. I grew up west of Cleveland and actually tapped trees in our yard and made syrup and candy several years. Most excellent. I'll most likely make buckwheat pancakes too.

...I will be displaying all the "upgrades" done to SilverLeaf since 2012. Today, I finished installing four 100 watt solar panels along with all the gear that goes with it. AND, since the roof is now pretty much covered up with "stuff" I won't have to worry about hail anymore!

Just checking in

Been a while, thought I would touch base.

A quick check of the campground shows 26 out of 69 sites left with about 2 months to go. It is a popular park and good chance it will fill up.

Here's the list I have:

Phil and Sue

GCinSC2

Towjob1975

StreamNTyme

Safari Streamer

Sandlapper

Road Runner

Captain Hank

TerryandAnn

StanandLynn

Oledawg

BAB

McCrosti

Big Hooter

Chime in if I left you out.

We will have Friday nite supper ready, likely a squirrel stew, so no one has to prepare much. Maybe some basic, easy sides. Just roll in, set up, hang out.

The sites are all paved, nice pull throughs/easy back ins, mostly level (some sites may need a board). It is a State Park so it is dark at night,
bring your party lights. And your bicycle/water craft for land/sea adventures. You will like this place.

Mostly bring your SMILE . Good time guarenteed or you get to skin the Possums next March.

For those of you already reserved, good move. For those undecided, don't let the 26 remaining sites get away. They very likely will.

Later.............

Possum John

thinkin bout it

if i were to reserve a spot for this rally, of those remaining is there one better than another?

we are planning a fall trip and this seems as good a focal point as there could be...

any thoughts

thanks
