Alumalina 2013

OK folks, time to begin planning for the 2013 Spring edition of the Alumalina gathering. 2012 was our break out year. . We had 2 really great meet ups, complete with hail, rainbows, possom bog, seminars, beautiful fall color, and darn good company. Might be difficult to top but we're gonna try real hard. We may leave off the hail in 2013 though. It didn't go over so well.

Looking at a couple of dates: March 8-10 or 15-17. Trying to avoid conflicts with any Easter activities.

Looking once again at the same campground near Charlotte at Carowinds. I have been in touch with them and they will give us the same deal as last year.

At this point everything is in pencil, and we welcome your input.

We set out to make this an annual gathering for anyone & everyone, especially Carolinians, that enjoy being with like minded people. We will once again share meals, knowledge, friendship, and good times.

Give this a look, check your calender, pencil it in. Let's make it happen.

Here's a link to the rally calendar: http://www.airforums.com/forums/cale...15;&e=1007&c=1

We have both dates on the calendar, but if we had our druthers we would prefer the March 15-17th dates.

Have a safe and warm winter, y'all.

I really missed not being able to attend the fall rally....but count me IN for whichever date you select. Only one condition: a GUARANTEE that we will NOT have hail like we had at the last Spring session. Haven't winterized yet, either. Planning to spend a few days in Florida before I blow lines, pink fluid the P-traps, etc. Hope everyone is well! Barry

John we'd love to travel South for Alumalina. Either date works for us. Can you PM me about flagpole holder? Thanks!

Let's set the date

I suggest March 15-17 .

Long range, extended forcast looks good: plenty of fun, all highs, no lows. And no hail.

Same as last year-Camp Wilderness at Carowinds, about 10 miles from downtown Charlotte, NC. Paved, full hook up pull throughs, trees, all side by side, good parking. Easy access. I'll nail down the arrangements soon.

The details can be worked out later. For now, it's time to mark your calender.

I'll go ahead and begin fattening up the Possum for the bog.

I spoke with the campground today. They have 20 sites reserved for us, the same ones as last year. #'s 149-168. More are available in the next row if we need them. Once again they are $29.99/nite, full hook up pull throughs.

Be sure to mention you are with the Airstream group, they will know where to put you. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The phone # to the campground is 704.587.9116

Okey-dokey, we have the first reservation! Site #149, coming in on Thursday the 14th.

AAA discount and $45 deposit sealed the deal.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, hope we have better weather in 2013.

Excellent, glad you're all in. Kate/Don, maybe you can bring along some of your low country neighbors.

Coming from the North...

If ya'll don't mind some Yanks from the North, we would love to meet some kindred brothers and sisters from the South. "Island Girl" will be ready to head for warm weather. Bob, Linda, and Harley the Airstream Miniature Schnauzer on board...
