We are having a few days of mild weather here in Rhode Island, making me want to take the Airstream out of the barn. The new tires and rims are ready to go. We did a few changes on the truck, 52 gallon tank, bed slider to make trips easier. Plan to head south around the first of March.

If anyone has a campground that they think we would enjoy please let me know. We are really looking forward to seeing our southern friends again. Greg and Bonnie

G&B, We will be leaving FL around March 9, headed for home. Bruce wants to stop by Alumalina (hence eyeballing this thread) but we might not be able to, 'cause the dogs will be home with a baby sitter and she has another commitment starting Fri the 15th. It would be a hoot to see you in NC! -Dorsey & Bruce

Well now, the planets are aligning, and Alumalina is sitting in the middle. Must be meant to be. Make the necessary arrangements for your dogs and stop on by and join us.

Greg and Bonnie will vouch for us, we're all a likeable bunch down here. And we cook up the best possum stew you've never had.

There is always Edisto Beach State Park, just south of Charleston, SC.

Get a spot in their beach campground. .

We're intrigued by the potential of Southern hospitality, and I'm not one to turn down a fat possum.

This adds an extra week to our (originally) three-week trip, which has already been extended by a week to four weeks. We're struggling with the concept and definition of responsibility.

We're also addressing the issue of the dogs. Do you think they'd be OK on their own in the house for five days? Maybe if we promise them possum they'll behave nicely.

Awww, come on! Give it a try!

I'll guarantee you will meet some of the nicest folks around. Some good food, a little imbibing of the spirits, lots of conversation and laughter.

I know you're kidding about leaving your dogs on their own for 5 days.

That's what I like about you, John. Always going the extra mile to please or make up.

Thanks Terry, nothing but the best for my Airstream buds.

I was going by the RSVP list and relying on my feable memory when I made the list.

Should have known better. I like to think my terrible memory comes from trying to remember too much stuff, but it's really too many weak brain cells from good living.

True story: I have a first cousin, recently retired as one of the finest brain surgeons in the country. I always accused him of robbing all the brain cells from the gene pool.

Haven't seen Terry & Marie sign up yet. Hope you can make it, guys, would love to see you. And, maybe Terry will do mudslides.

Hope the weather is a bit more hospitable this year. We are getting a late start to our winter trip, not leaving here til about the 14th of February, going to Edisto Beach for two weeks of heaven on earth and meeting up with an Airstreamer from Charlottesville, Virginia there. Hoping she will mini caravan with us, then, to Alumalina.

See y'all soon,

Maggie
Edisto Beach. I scared this critter when I was stumbling around on my morning walk.

Hope to make it

Looks like a great crowd coming together for this one. We attended the fall rally at Highland Haven and it was great fun to meet many of you. Trying now to work out our schedule to make it to Charlotte. Terry promised no hail this time.

Won't know for sure for two more weeks if we can break away.
Hope to be there.

Hope it works out for you to join us, looks like a great crowd in the making.

And we'll hold Terry to his promise of no hail

Hail is a four letter word, especially to Airstreamers.

My husband and I plan to stop by at some point on Saturday. I'll be bringing some Krispy Kremes to officially acquaint ourselves. We'll be the one withOUT an Airstream. But hoping to meet some of you fine folks & get the scoop on the AS life.

Glad you're coming. A fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut will unlock the door on any Airstream Opps, I probably shouldn't have said that

We are expecting a good crowd with a wide variety of lengths and models, vintage to new, including a classic moho and an Interstate. So should be PLENTY of good, shiny stuff to look at and brains to pick. Well, not sure about the brain part, but sure about the shiny part. Plan on spending the day.

I am working on the Seminars and hope to nail them down soon. Tentatively we are shooting for one on "hitching up", another on running gear, and if time allows, one on extended/full time traveling. We would like to do the seminars Saturday AM so the PM can be for open house and some serious mingling. With some luck, perhaps some small, on sight repairs.

All we need is a couple of days like today: not a cloud in the sky, and 70*.

Stay tuned folks.

John
