The "G" Stands for Girl

Maggie,

You are correct. The "G" stands for girl. We may have to extend membership in the honorary Southern society to you too!

Awww, I would be honored.

I have Confederate roots, ya know.

My mother was a first generation Yankee when, after WWII, she married my father and they moved to Illinois.

Prior to that, my people have been in the South since the 1600's.

Sometime, if y'all really are in need of entertaining, I'll tell you some stories. My great-aunt was a genealogist...........

So john, if there's a fall version a comin' i bet we can come up with some staff to assist.

I'm volunteering today.

And not sure if we can do it, bet we can though, i'd like to serve pancakes from my 20" cast iron skillet. Maybe even buckwheat pancakes to boot.

Good job sandlapper.

Gary, thanks for the pat on the back. We had a GREAT time at the Spring event and would be totally open to a Fall Rally also. I have no doubt there would be plenty of help.

Generally, the best weather in the Carolinas is in the Fall. We enjoy being out that time of the year more than any.

I have been looking at several dates, and another site. We would not be able to gather at Carowinds in the Fall because the Theme park will still be open then and the rates jump way up.

AND, Phillip and Brittany are expecting their first child (our 2nd grand) around Oct 9. Probably don't need to tell ya what Grandma says about missing that.

I have been looking at Sept. 13-15, or 20-22, or 27-29. Afraid to commit on any October weekends.

Also, thinking of another site for the Fall:: Lake Wateree St. Park near Winnsboro, SC.

It is a nice SP, about 10-12 miles off I77 at mile marker 41 in SC. Paved roads, paved sites, lake front sites, mostly level, all wooded. It would be roughly 50 miles south of the Carowinds site. A bit farther for some, a bit closer for others. Power/water hookup, dump station, very nice camping.

So folks, lets give this some thought. Check your calender, take a look at the Park. Google camping at Lake Wateree State Park.

What say you??????

John

Yep, we love Wateree SP too., it is one of our favorite places. We get down there several times a year. It would be a great place for a fall Rally. Once school gets back in session, it is much easier to get a site, and group camping should not be a problem.

OK, Wateree it is

I will call the Park tomorrow to check on dates and availability. They have fishing tournaments there sometimes which take up some of the sites.

I am thinking Sept 13-15, or Sept 2o-22.

I'll do some homework and post the info.

John

We will miss you and Karen and promise not to talk about you too much. And Thor would be right at home at this Park. If things change, come on, we will be there.

We have a busy Fall also, amazing how much fun stuff there is to do these daze. I just don't get it, how some folks have nothing to do. We can't get it all in.

Was it Commander Cody, or maybe the Flying Burrito Bros, that had a line in a song that said...

"Too much fun, that's news to me, too much fun, well there must be...a whole lota things that I ain't never done, cause I ain't never had too much fun".
