I am bringing a 1000 Honda EI, but I can easily throw in the 3500. It's a Honda but not the quiet one. I'll bring both so our options are open if we need a little extra power.
If we were going to do leak tests I would have to know soon. My equipment is at another forum member's home, and need to get it en route. We will also need water for the testing, and don't want to use up people's only water source.
Yikes! We had several inches of rain last night and our basement is wet. I'm working on getting it cleaned up but we'll almost certainly be delayed. We should still arrive Friday but it may be late afternoon or early evening.
As I am typing this it's starting to rain again.

Hi all,
It's been very dry in Ohio (I live here) for several weeks. I think real fire is not a great idea. I have a full propane tank I can bring along and am happy to share.
Looking forward to meeting everyone,

Good point and valid concern for some areas depending on the rainfall. But in that area, the State Forestry Manager I just checked with says "no restrictions on open campfires as long as they are in a fire ring and the normal precautions are taken." He suggested "it could be a good opportunity to educate the kids and any newer campers on proper fire safety". He asked that if we use propane that we use proper caution.

PM me if you are interested.

Steve,
I'd love to see a leak test. It could be educational for the group - especially those of us with vintage uints who "think we have our leaks under control."
- Does anyone else here besides me find it ironic that we are considering celebrating the anniversery of a amazing caravaan while sitting around a propane fire pit?
- Dutch ovens don't work well on propane.
- Fire rings are present, and since Laura & Buck from Michigan aren't coming, we should be safe from forest fires.

Last weekend at the Cape to Cairo rally there were fire rings available, but we used the propane fire pits every evening. The propane pits start instantly, shut off without risk of fires easily, don't make smoke that bothers people with allergies (We have some attend this rally), don't make your clothing emell bad, and don't make you move when the wind shifts.
I will have mine, but will go with whatever the group decides for the event. People can still use a fire for dutch ovens like how Sugarfoot uses a chimney started for her volcano.
Oh my gosh --- I have skipped this thread till now - thinking it was about a book. You guys are gonna have a blast. Gee, IF I had known what you were planning I would have broken my 3 hour limit (max travel time) to join. You. I can't wait to read your stories about the event. I'll be thinking of you all - and trying not to beat myself up too bad about not reading this till TODAY.
The weather is just not cooperating. We will not be able to attend. If there is somebody at the event that did not sign up for the Saturday evening tour but wants to attend the tour/dinner please use our tickets.
DanB, I'll leave it to you to decide how to re-use the tickets. I realize there is no refund at this point - that's not a problem. I would like somebody to go on the tour/meal in our absence if possible.

Please be aware that I will now be without internet unless I can find an open network on the road.
Anyone that would like to attend the Safari will need to phone me at 440.453.9782. First caller gets the rights to the reservations. DO NOT CALL THE WILDS DIRECTLY.
Lucius, I hope your luck changes. Again, I'm sorry
