Actually, the park is NOT dry. Just don't get drunk. State Parks in Illinois are dry, but this is not a state park, so alcohol in moderation is OK.

I may wind up in a "tin tent". The 1968 Overlander that I am working on as a replacement for the smushed 1967 is in the process of getting a new floor front to back. I have set a tight schedule for getting the thing done in time for this event to be it's first outing.

I hope to at least have the bath and majority of the plumming (gas and water) done by the end of Septmeber.

We're talking about FOOD..

and we want to cook everything for the whole weekend outside over the campfire.. dutch oven this and dutch oven THAT... YUM YUM YUM.

As well as I just got the most WONDERFUL dutch oven from a little old lady.. she had seasoned it and stored it perfectly.. it has a half inch of 50 year old oil in the bottom :-)

That should add to the flavor??

I’ve discovered the perfect companion to bring to an Airscream/UFO Convention.
Unfortunately they appear to only be available in an alternate universe or England.(sigh)
In any event we’re collecting and cleaning our metal pots and pans for the campfire cooking.

I have a huuuuge plug-in, blow up purple tarantula and I can't find it!

It's new, still in the box.

It would be soooo perfect on the front of the trailer :-)

Hello to all. Tom and I are back from our vacation and had a wonderful time. Alaska is just beautiful;the time went by very quickly.The cruise ship was fantastic.
Time is getting close for our fall rallyand we need to begin to plan our meals. Camp fire cooking was the idea for our meals. Any idea on who wants to prepare what and how we will accomplish this? Shall we combine ideas or what? How about potluck soup for lunch? Everyone needs to bring an item to add to the soup base that I will bring.Let's post ideas soon
Remember to bring the your dutch ovens and your decorations for Halloween.

just imagine, fall fresh air and MAYBE some pretty leaves :-)

Come one come all to Pecatonica, Oct 3. Yes that's right! All airstream owers and wanabees in the area of Rockford, IL. Airtandem, Mike and Dana Johnson of Davenport, Iowa are now seasoned Pec visitors (this is our 3rd outing with this group)and each year gets better and better with lasting friendships. Come join us this year, we know you will have fun. This year is cooking all meals over the open fire!.......should be fun. Stay tuned to more info as we thread.
