Welcome to all the newcomers! We missed the spring rally, but last fall was our first rally and we had a great time with everyone! I noticed on the RSVP list we have another newbie...Air-Deb...who signed up on the 13th, so welcome to you and feel free to post here also! So that makes 19 and Don & Jerri make 20...it's going to be a good one! We are so ready to camp since we have not done so all year since we moved to a new home the first of June. We will be coming in to Acorn Acres on Thurs. afternoon and leaving Sun, then going to spend a few days at Bull Shoals St Park on the White River...yay!! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Debi & Jim

All right - let's start thinking about food. I've been working on some new Dutch Oven recipes & dreaming up another.

Hey Sam!

I've been thinking about about Dutch oven recipes too. I hope to avoid another pineapple upside-disaster this time! Haha!

I plan to focus on cooking one item. I'm thinking about either chicken pot pie, or an apple pie or crisp type of dessert.

I'm going to cook a corn pudding & working on a new dish for a dessert based on sweet potatoes. Probably will not use the "Monster 16" though. Might also do a meat dish.

Harvest time foods are a good fit for Halloween.

Ok guys I think we are going to have to step up the Dutch oven contest. Ken and I had dinner with Raynard and Stefenie (new to our group and from KC area) this week and sounds like they are going to be some stiff competition. They are up for a challenge.

Start practicing everyone. Remember Ken and Drew can't win this contest. Acorn Acres will be doing the judging just to keep it fair. Very cool prize for this contest...no I am not going to tell what it is. Sorry Brad.

I am so excited. Carol and I have a planning session on Wed and then I will post the schedule.

We made an apple cobbler while camping this weekend and is was so good. Perfect for fall. That corn pudding sounds wonderful.

Hi! I just spoke with Linda at Acorn Acres. They are so excited to see us in October. She wanted me to mention to be sure and reserve your campsite, if you have not yet done so.
So far they have not had a burn ban so I'm keeping my fingers crossed we can have a campfire. Several of us have been camping and to different Rallys this summer and should have lots of campfire stories to tell.
Nan and I met for lunch today and firmed up our schedule. She will be posting it over the next few days. We are having a lot of fun planning this.
And Brad, a little suspense is a good thing!

Guess I should have explained what the Patio Parade is all about.

The contest will be decorating your outside space for Halloween. Since we will have some people doing lights we will do a nighttime stroll and then a daytime trailer crawl.

You will need to choose one trailer that you thought was decorated the best.

Hope this makes sense.

Nan
