Dutch Oven Recipe for Saturday

If you are interested in participating, I am making a Pineapple Upside Down Cake on Saturday. The recipe is provided below for those interested:

Bring ingredients, with cake mix prepared as described below ( in step 2.)
Pineapple Upside-Down Done Dutch Prepared in a 12” Dutch Oven
Ingredients
2 Tbsp butter
16 oz. can pineapple slices, in juice 8 oz. jar maraschino cherries 1/2 cup brown sugar
18.25 oz box yellow cake mix
(plus ingredients required to make mix, normally eggs, water, and oil)
aluminum foil
serving platter (or cooking sheet)
Directions
1. Line 12” dutch oven (d.o.) with aluminum foil and place butter in foil.
2. Mix cake mix according to package directions, substituting juice from pineapples for much of the water required.
3. Place d.o. on 9 coals and place 15 coals on lid and melt margarine.
4. Arrange pineapple slices on bottom of d.o., place a cherry in the center of each slice. Sprinkle brown sugar over fruit.
5. Pour cake batter over the fruit.
6. Cover and cook for 30 minutes. Turning oven and lid at 15 minutes.
7. Remove cake from d.o. using foil and cover with additional foil.
8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
9. Turn upside down and peel away foil.

Less than a week away!

Well, they've grown up a bit since this video was made a few years back but still playing together and looking forward to next Saturday evening.

And....if anyone else would like to join us (singing, instrument, or both), please send me a message and we'll make it happen. (We have a very large song book!)

Looking forward to getting away from it all and seeing everyone. Don't forget the gift exchange during the pot luck dinner. Everyone who brings something leaves with something. Can be small gifts for camper, bottle of wine, something homemade, whatever.

See ya there!

We look forward to seeing everyone. Don't forget the Icebreaker Happy Hour on Friday at 6. Those who don't think happy is limited to an hour can come early and stay late.

We will gather at the shelter.

Polishing.....a Pizzamaker's Perspective

Having logged over 20 hours of polishing over the last month (with no previous experience), I have certainly learned a thing or two and while no professional, I may be able to give a tip or two from a layman's perspective if there is anyone in attendance who is considering the task.

Is anyone interested in a 30 minute, down and DIRTY (but not too dirty) demonstration on polishing Saturday following the breakfast?

I would be happy to bring a few items and even a list of what I've used (which is fairly simple) if there is any interest.

Speak up....and I'll pack a few items (and I may pack a few anyway)

See ya Friday evening!

Unfortunately, my wife and I haven't finished our renovations in time to come this weekend... We really thought we were going to make it and were really excited about our first meetup. But, we still have a bit left on laying new floors and finishing the bathroom walls.

Hopefully we'll catch everyone at another rally in the future
Have fun!

Sorry to hear it, Nick....but we all know how it goes (believe me)!

Hopefully we'll see you next time! Best of luck getting it altogether!

First time to this campground ... what's the shelter situation look like for Saturday evening "campfire" activities? Is there one big fireplace?

~ you know how you think you're gonna be on the road by 8 and then it's 8 and you're still drinking coffee in "fixing to get ready to go" mode ... ~
