Uhhhh. . . . I'm not too sure about me and that Mexican Ice Cream. It takes some really hard frozen ice cream balls and a deep fryer. I don't think I can swing that in the AS. I can bring chips, hot sauce, sweet sauce, taco shells, flour tortillas, taco meat, mexican rice - do you need anything in that department?

I'll be making burritos for dinner Saturday night potluck, and some kind of dessert. I like this Mexican theme! Maybe Greek or Italian in the fall... Well, Nan and Carols choice.

By the way MidwestAir, last night as I was freezing my bootie off way down here in Arkansas, I was sure glad we moved the rally up two weeks. This would have been our rally weekend, and Friday was rainy, Saturday was cold, today is WINDY and the flying pollen is killing me!

We made a wise choice to move our spring rally later!

I have been thinking all day on the food issue. It would be nice if we all could bring different parts of the meal. I really do not think that would work as easy as it sounds. maybe if we all bring a little of everything and just lay it all out like last time it will work out.

I looked up making the ice cream after I posted that...........it dont look easy at all hahaha.

How about if you (Airdream) make all the sauces we will need?

I can take care of the different meats we will use like chicken and red meat. I may even do some wild game meats, i will mark them if I do so people know what they are eating.

Could one person bring all the shells and tortilla things?

We can all do veggies, onions, peppers and such. That way we get all kinds of different flavors.

Beans and rice..........can we get one person to do each?

We will need all the cheeses too could we get someone to take that one?

If we can split all this up I think it will go nice like. I do not want one person to bring it all so lets get this in stone.

I am gonna take a educated guess and say that we all will bring a little of everything anyways. Let me know what you guys think about splitting up those things.

Food & stuff

I don't know about the food specifics ~ Sometimes I don't know until I get there what all I'm going to cook! I think it works fine if you give people the theme and then just let them bring whatever they want within that theme. We always have tons of food and never want for anything at the potlucks. Last fall we had enough leftovers to eat a meal on Sunday even though lots of people had already left....so don't stress yourself too much about the food. It shows up and exceeds expectations at every rally we've been to. (The cajun feast at Texas Piney Woods Rally was amazing as well as the pies and barbeque at previous AIRMidwest Rallies.)

The schedule is just a rough idea of when some of us will be doing what - except I know you really, really want to get everyone there for the group photo Sunday morning. Yeah, yeah, I'll get up.

One must be at Billy Gails for breakfast before 8 a.m. to avoid waiting in line. We went at 7:30 last fall. Yeah, I'll get up again. Dang campers always get up early, except for me....and Mrs. C LOL At least I'm not the only night owl in this group!

I have no sombrero yet. Gotta' go to the party store, I guess.

We're in a mess around here. Trying to get ready and leave early so we can visit Blair's WBCCI Rally in Springfield THIS weekend! Yikes. Also trying to get our house ready to go on the market....double yikes!

Don't forget, besides wood, it's good to have some visqueen or tarps in case the rain/wind decides to blow in the pavilion while we're gathered.

Wood, pavilion bathrooms

Shane, if you remember last year, the park staff brought all their picked up kindling to our bonfire site. They helped us a lot with wood. Hope your friend Bob is prepared to have bonfires in his campsite! LOL

Also, we never figured out during the first rally (for us) last spring, but Acorn Acres, bless them, close the bathrooms in the pavilion during our rally so only our group can use them. Nice! And they give us exclusive use of the pavilion during our entire rally. I love those folks.

Shane scoffed at me making Flan so we going to make him eat it! I've got a tarp and will get some wood for the fire. Wine and marshmallows anyone??
