Just received an email from the park:

The rally is full. She is taking a waiting list in case something opens up or there is a cancellation.

We look forward to having another wonderful time. As we get closer Roseann and I will post more info about events in the area and other bits of useless information.

Well, we have not been to one of these AS events for quite a while...I called the host site this morning and we're first on the list for cancelations, so hope we can get in. If not, perhaps we can stay close by and visit with some of you "legends" here on the Forum!

We are at our place in MT right now, but it is a tad cold (-25 yesterday!)....looking forward to getting back to some warmer weather in Austin next week!

Yes still full. Best thing to do is call and be on the waiting list. Those on the list will have first shot at open spots.

It just so happens that I'm passing through Hill Country on April 7, my very first trip out with my new Airstream International, from Massachusetts to Arizona.
I take it this is an Airstream Rally?? If so, it would be my first. Can you describe a little of what I'd experience?

Yes, this is an Airstream rally. There is no set schedule of events. Some people like to go see the wild flowers, some like to visit the various wineries and distilleries in the area and other go shopping in the various stores around the area. Fredericksburg, Blanco, and Marble Falls are 20-30 mins away. They along with Johnson City have numerous boutique type stores with items for everyone. There is also the LBJ national historic site which is interesting

Everyone is always looking at each others trailers as the layouts are different and we always have 1 or 2 vintage trailers in attendence. I know there will be a '55 Flying Cloud there this year and a couple of '50's Safari's.

Friendship, Fellowship, and Food!!
My wife and usually furnish the the protein for Friday, everyone brings a side dish of choice, on Saturday dinner is potluck. All other meals are on your own.

Roseann usually puts out a little blurb of anything special going on in the area in addition to the previous mentioned items. We usually do that in the middle of March once the communities announce their activities.

I'm sure Bruce can give you a more formal overview of the rally (just noticed he did that already!), but if nothing else, your going to be close to great Texas BBQ, Texas wineries & Garrison Bros. Whisky distillery in Hye, Luckenbach TX, Fredericksburg shopping and eating and hiking...just to name a few things in the area...
