It'll be good if you get to actually burn the firewood!

Dave, I was at a resort near Kerrville a couple weeks back and we were specifically informed that no burn ban was in effect and we could have outside fires. This should apply in spades if Hurricane Paul continues on the current course toward Baja and then across Texas. Blanco is ancestral ground to me and I've walked the dino tracks & swam at the park there. I'll make it some year...

Well, I spoke too soon, the website doesn't seem to be working now...

I sure don't like the new reserveamerica website. It's new format sure has more problems the the previous...

???

Shouldn't that date be Friday Dec 8 and Saturday, Dec 9 rather than the 9th and 10th? Leaving on Sunday the 10th.

We'll be there, as usual.

Reservation Made

After a long fight last night with the website of reserveamerica, I final resigned it was broken and gave up

This morning I called the Texas State Park number in Austin @ 512-389-8900 and made the reservation for December 8 for 2 nights. She said the website should be fixed by 2 this afternoon

Same problem

I also gave up last night and made my reservation through the 389-8900 number (local for me).

In the past, I have had very poor results with the online state park reservations. At the best, they are confusing, and at the worst, they simply don't work.

I grabbed the last full hookup site available. That allows me to flush my tanks before a few weeks of not using the trailer.

Good to see everyone getting their spots reserved, in spite of the problem with reserveamerica
And yes, John, Dec 8-10 would have been a more precise date, for those arriving on Friday, the 8th.

I'm inviting a friend to join us at Blanco that weekend. He's got a SOB, so don't pick on him too much, OK?

He does do some home brew, so I told him Alcohol = Acceptance with this group!! So he better bring some Beer!!

Looking forward to it.

Blanco Christmas Campout

Hello all you Airstreamers
So happy to hear that we will be back in Blanco for the annual
Christmas Parade and candy toss. I am not sure but I suspeect the Christmas FLeas Market will be set up again, hand made knick knacks. I think I bought candy last year.
Maybe someone will do a beer tour, we can always just buy anbother keg of the coffee beer and take a look around when we go to pick it up
Don't forget the real reason we have this campout, it's the Gift exchange. Each campsite brings something to put under the trees and then after our annual Pot Luck Dinner on Saturday night, we put names in a hat and draw names for the gifts, using the rules that started so many fights back in Elementery school, keep the gift, or trade it for something someone else already recceived.
Each year we forget the rules and argue about them, it's my favorite part, if we open the gifts first or not and if we do does the gift wrap have to be included in the exchanged gift!!! you may think these are not important details but then You would be Wrong, ! Oh so wrong
so wrap up your biggest flamingo or chicken salt and pepper shakers and head on down to the park
this is a no plan planned event, Friday night we usually go to dinner in town, a bike ride away , Saturday night is Pot luick and the gift exchange and Sunday is that day we usually go home,
On Saturday morning is the parade in Down town Blanco, you can google Blanco Texas and click on the Chamber of commerce pages to learn more about the event, it usually happens around 10am. unless it is snowing.
I went to Reserve America before I made this post and they say they still have s few sites. so it may be true. good luck, it's one of the smallest parks in Texas
And don't forget those CHristmas Lights! I got new Blue LED lights can't wait
