Another cancel...

We are so bummed we will not be able to make this trip! We had been looking forward to this all year. Our new house build is behind schedule and we are planning on lots of camping at our new place to get it finished.

I know everyone will have a great time! It is one of our very favorite places to camp and canoe.

The fishing trophies are on their way to Tikiman - have a great fishing tourney!!

We expect to arrive sometime Friday; plan to stay at Wakonda State Park Thursday night on our way south.
Our potluck contribution will be grilled pork tenderloin and crunchy munchies of some sort. Reading back over the thread reminded me of the dutch oven idea...hmmm, what to do with it??
Can anyone tell me if there is a paved bike trail nearby?
Are dogs permitted/welcomed/encouraged in the park and camp area?
Trying to decide--bike or dog...or neither.
Looking forward to meeting new friends!

Unexpected change of plans - maybe next year

Hey guys,
We've had an unexpected change of plans and won't make it. I was really looking forward to meeting some folks that lived close to St. Louis and to boondocking which I haven't really done yet.

Hopefully next year we can make it.

I'm sure you'll have a great time - weather looks like it will be nice. Share photos if possible.

Lois & Jim--you guys are going too miss a good one! Bummer we can't "rally" together again...

Eileen & Ed--Tikki Man can fill you in on the bike trails and hiking trails in the park and nearby. We're bringing our pooch, an Aussie named Genie. She came last year and now is a regular to all our rallies. We're also bringing our canoe and fishing gear. The lake is the perfect size and well stocked. Look forward to meeting you guys.

Yes dogs and bikes welcome!

Only rule....Dogs must be on a leash unless in the act of dog training.

There are gravel multi-use trails all over the area. You will also be within driving distance of the Katy and MKT trails. With the change in colors the area around Rocheport will be the most scenic for biking.

If you're a history buff the Town of Arrow Rock is a must see day trip. We'll be available to help with directions. I'm putting gooddy bags together for everyone that will have a lot of local info.

Canoes, kayaks and boats with electric motors welcome. There's a boat ramp, fishing dock for easy access. You will also be able to launch a canoe from the shore line. We'll be on site this afternoon to help folks move in.

Wow! What a great rally. Thanks to everyone who attended. We started on Thursday with the arrival of five trailers and then had a campfire. On Friday, attendees hiked, biked, canoed and fished in the lake. We welcomed three more trailers and then roasted hotdogs and ate "Tina" chilli. On Saturday, the fishing tournament started. Derald Wilson "Indy" took top honors with a 12" bass. The evening ended with a great potluck and lots of food. At the campfire, there were plenty of ghost stories to go around. Sunday dawned clear and cool. Everyone gathered at the campfire for a big breakfast of bacon and French toast with homemade syrup provided by Bill & Carla Whitney from Vermont. This years rally was better than ever and we look forward to many more.

Folks,

That looked pretty neat and I haven't dry camped with the AS, this is really neat looking, I'd like to try someday.

No annoying lights, just sky at night.

We were scared that the rally would turn out to be a polishing party next year, so we tried out the "brightener" at a truck wash on the way home.
