The park water failed a EPA Chlorine Test and that is the reason that all water for drinking needs to be boiled. It is park wide and will still be in effect this weekend. This info is from one of the campground hosts,

Thanks Alan for the water update. I'll fill my 5 gallon containers prior to leaving home. For those who don't have any, you can find them at Wal-Mart for minimal cost. Just be aware that each will weigh in at 40 lbs or so when filled.

I'm in the process of sanitizing the holding tank. A cup of bleach into the holding tank, add 60 gallons of water, let it sit 4 hours and drain and flush once or twice. I also turned on the pump and pushed a little into the lines.

Don't forget to come by my site at F2 on Friday. I'll be cooking and serving hot dogs beginning at 5pm.

For those of you coming in Friday, be sure to review the list of attendees and know your site. The Moraine view staff may not know the exact site I have given you. I am providing a list but you never know if the guest host will have it with them. Those of you arriving earlier made your reservations for the early day so you are in the right spot...I hope. Also remember that you technically have paid for Friday so the only additional fees you owe to the park is for days prior to Friday or Saturday and if you overnight on Sunday.

Sites reserved at this point. 6/9/10

We may be short on meat at the potluck, for Doug & the other serious carnivores out there, so are pulling some Italian Beef from our freezer and will also be bringing that along with rolls.

Saturday table move: 4PM, help me gather some tables from our sites so we can make room for the pot luck food and seating. We will move the tables back after dinner to set up room for the movies. We would appreciate you sharing your site table for a few hours that evening.

If you are making a meat item for the Saturday evening meal, sharing is optional. It's a vegi, starch, salad, desert, or bread type item to fix and share at the potluck -- enough for your family and 4 to 6 others.

Nancy Mac,

Thanks for clarifying that. I must have glossed over it and missed that part.

We glossed over it the first Moraine View rally we attended.

We were surprised when folks started bringing their own main dish from their smokers and grills at their sites and didn't share. Then we figured it out.

Several do share their main dish. I recall some nice shrimp on the table at last year's rally. I did lots of sweets last year so I'm going back to veggies this year.

I had forgotten the meat-for-your-own part of the Saturday potluck. That's why there were no meat dishes signed up!

I'll be bringing a quart of Italian Beef, so there'll be a bit extra to share.
