We'll be bringing chili and bowls for the potluck and 2 flamingo beach towels for the raffle. Not sure if we're doing breakfast or not but we are interested in the Red Bar Friday night.

in fact some folks PREFER these sites because of closer access to the beach path or gator pond...

here is a modified park map that shows many of the park amenities...

like the pool, laundry, shuffle board, tennis court, meeting room and so on (open in another window and ZOOOOM in) ...

the park was REVISING the front entry/exit, moving it CLOSER to the road, this should be done by now...

they have also added rv SLOTS for the staff (just west of the LOOP) and some new parking/handicap access and trails and restrooms...

((which i've roughed in with gray/yellow lines))

so GO TO the reserve america website and get ANY site available, they is ALL GOOD on the hill!

Hi from Alabama

Huge fan of the AS and came across the forum. As you know there are NO dealers anywhere close to me so is it possible for me to ride down and see some of your campers at the rally? We actually just bought a teardrop a year ago, then upgraded to a quicksilver pop up after seeing how much we enjoyed camping, but still long for the AS. I wasnt sure i could handle a big camper but craved the AS for years. After my brief year of camping in these 2 i'm looking to the near future but stuck on the size, layout, vintage, new etc that is right for me.

Scotty,

You would be very welcome to attend the rally. Most Airstreamers are proud of their units, and are willing to show them off.....as well as provide all the "advice" you could ask for. I would suggest Saturday......1:00 is the time that the Open House starts (participating members leave their units open, and we all get the opportunity to see different models, decorating ideas, etc.). You might think about getting there a bit early, introduce yourself, and do the Open House, Happy Hour and Potluck. Just bring something to contribute to the potluck dinner, and an inexpensive gift (if you want to participate in the drawing). You will find that this is a friendly, laid-back, group.

BTW, if you're over in our neck-of-the-woods, I would be happy to show you our Safari (it's always plugged in, and ready-to-go). I have owned two new units (2007 & 2008) and can give you the good, bad, and ugly on newer models. Vintage units.....not, so much.

Regards,

Ron

Fantastic, thank you so much. My daughters and I are camping at topsail for spring break but if I can talk them to coming over for that weekend we might just camp at one of the available sites. Hope to see you there.

It's a ways off, but I am entertaining the thought of flying down for the weekend just for the fun. Maybe I'll bring the leak testing equipment!

They have accomadations even if dont bring a camper.instead of getting a hotel you can stay in one of there small cabins.they really look like decked out mini trailers the last time I saw them.

We live in Daphne and have been going to the Can Opener for 4 years and you don't need an Airstream to join in, just hook up your unit and and come on down. You can even meet up with us in Daphne and caravan down

Now, I'm just a Can Opener Wannabe. We got to the first one but family issues have kept us home since... When I enviously look over your plans, above, I see the fixin's of great Can Opener food: Jack Daniels Bread Pudding, grits, sweet Georgia tea, but my,my....this is in the South on the Gulf so where's the gumbo and where's the bacon? If we could just join the party, we'd bring our share! Well, keep planning and posting so we wannabe's can dream and imagine that we're really therel ~G
