What free time??? I guess you haven't signed up for the 1st annual Polar Bear Swim, or the necked midnight streak through the campground!

Actually, it isn't THAT cold during the day, if the wind is not blowing. I was out loading some gear into the truck today, and as long as I was in the sun....not bad. It's when the sun goes down, or the wind comes up that it gets a bit brisk. But, that's the time for a bit of JD and coke to take away the chill.

For real activities:
- there is a National Football Championship game to watch Thursday nite
- a bit of layering should be fine for Friday visiting and welcoming new arrivals...and there is the Red Bar excursion on Friday evening......followed by lie-telling around campfires (we're carting some wood to add to the bonfire)
- Saturday is a busy day....why not have breakfast with the Rangers, do some more lie-telling until the Open House at 1:00 PM, followed by Happy Hour, Pot Luck and Raffle.

Since Steve (Devoman) has the clubhouse reserved Fri-Sun, it should be available for folks who would prefer to congregate there to socialize......but, that is a bit reminescent of "other" rallies.

Sometimes a bit of hardship makes things a bit more fun. Some of our most memorable Harley trips involved either freezing temps or pouring rain. We gonna have fun.....and, if necessary have some shirts printed up that say "I survived the frozen Canopener 10."

I'll bring some wood along, and some stuff to persuade it to get goin'. ;-0
I dislike being cold too, but I'm still going. Being an original New Englander, this is cold, but it isn't That cold! We could have ice and snow. Although, snow does have it's insulating qualities...

Obviously many of y'all have not experienced the spring Bristol race (NASCAR)! This weather will be a "breeze" in comparison. If you need outdoor warmth, come see us at our site. It'll be the one w/ the 'red glow' coming from it! All are welcome!
Looking forward to meeting everyone. See y'all on Thursday.

Philosophize

Quoting from that great philosopher, Burt Reynolds, who said to the Snowman in Smokey and the Bandit "We're going to hang it up son; we ain't gonna make it".

It's 13 degrees in Indiana. The secondary roads are covered in snow and ice, and the forecast for tomorrow is more of the same.

Mary and I have looked forward to this as our maiden voyage to celebrate my early retirement (last month). We were really looking forward to it, but it's just not gonna happen.

We wish everyone well, and look forward to meeting up with you all at some future event. Topsail sounds great, and we definitely want to visit sometime. It's a shame the weather turned so bad, but Florida in January or February can be fickle.

Site #138 will be available in just a few minutes. It's a great site according to Sugarfoot.

just walked the dog, man the stars are BRIGHT outside tonight.

i count 6 streams here NOW, but only one of those may be related to the rally,

from o-hi-o with 2 kayaks on top...

sky is that you?

the others are just folks camping...

bunch of big class a pushers too and there was just 5 or 6 LANCE slide in truck campers here.

some of those truck bed campers have slides now, pretty wild.

it was a tad chilly swimming in the gulf this am but very nice in the afta noon.

it does take more brickettes to cook with a dutch oven when it's 40 out...

and the gators are MUCH easier to spot right now with the bright red mufflers and knit booties...

cheers

I should become a professional onliner troller. I just knew my post would hook a sucker... I mean, compadre.

This sounds like a great idea for Saturday morning, before the ranger breakfast. Swim trunks will be packed.
