We had some big storms roll through STL last night....heading up with a dirty trailer.
I'm guessing we should be there around 4 PM or so. High chance of thunderstorms today, also up at Moraine. All should be done by 7 PM, with no rain for Friday and Saturday. 20% chance on Sunday. All in all it looks like another stellar weekend. Everyone drive safe!

Check in time is 3pm. They might let you in early.
I hear ya Jack, I just Walbernized yesterday....my bad....I did the rain dance. Double whammy if you consider I had the truck washed.

water tanks
For those of you who have not camped at Moraine View before, you might consider filling (or nearly) your water tank at home. The water at the campground is not exactly clear and sparkling.
I think Jack went through more than one filter last year.

We have tickets to see Wicked in Indianapolis tonight. We'll hit the road Friday about 9 AM. Should pull into the park about noon. Everybody have a safe trip!

It's quirky how things end up being. I have spent the last seven days in Marseilles, IL about an hour north of Bloomington/Normal. We had pretty severe thunderstorms, leaky military tents, sick people, and one idiot who slipped and threw his neck into spasm (me).
After four days of rest and flexerill, I was sent home today with a new batch of Lorazapam to try and relax the muscle.
Since we missed last year, we were pretty upset about my training interfering this year. Call me crazy, but we will be attending the rally as long as my neck isn't a liability in the morning. We hope that we can show up early since we want to get a jump on traffic.
Yes McAir...we will bring the leak tester for you!

2009 Moraine View Rally
The Overlander is connected to the Suburban and we should be hitting the road sometime in the next two hours. With all of the heavy storms that we have been having, I decided it might be better to leave the Cadillac at home in the grage.

Hi all!
So fun to meet everyone, enjoyed your company and what a great potluck! As promised, below is the recipe for:
Scalloped Corn
1 can creamed corn
1 can yellow corn, drained
1 tube Ritz crackers, crushed
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
several grinds of black pepper
butter
Beat egg with milk, mix with remaining ingredients. Pour into 8X8" or other small, greased baking dish. Sprinkle top liberally with bits of cold butter. Bake at 375 degrees 30-40 minutes, till bubbly and top has begun to brown.
We doubled this for the 12" Dutch Oven, could easily triple it if needed, using the same size oven. 10 coals underneath, 12 coals on top, took about 30 minutes.

We arrived home and finished unpacking the camper. I must have counted over twenty Airstream trailers en route to the international. Thanks to Mac crew of two camper for reserving me a spot, Jack and Patty for being gracious hosts, Tiki for the "ooops" comedy moment, and everyone else we made or rekindled friendships with.

Photo Gallery Page
Thanks to everyone for making this such a great rally.
I've posted a photo gallery of pictures I took over the weekend. There are 56 of them and you have the option to download individual photos or the entire gallery in one zip file.
Most importantly, there's the ability to upload your own photos and contribute to the gallery. You'll see the upload button on the top of the gallery page.

Enjoy,
Steve

Home again. House is still in one piece so the girls must have cleaned up from the wild party. Looks pretty normal, but the dog and cat are VERY happy to see us. Hmmm..
Steve we have your power cord. See Roger for ransom info.
