Hey all, I have a question,

I got a message on our answering machine, today (very faint, barely audible), form Mary? at the park. She said she was was putting us in, I think it says P42. That looks rather small on the hand drawn map. Can anyone tell me if my 31 foot aluminum trailer will fit in that spot? If there is enough room, I'm a happy camper. If anyone thinks it will be tight, I'll call her back...

Thanks for the advice,

P42 is a good site. Most of the Moraine sites are deeper than you would expect. I think I remember someone had a 34' unit on that site one year. I've been on P43 for the last couple of rallies so I'm pretty familiar with the spot. I've added you to the list that's a few posts back in the thread.

Unfortunately I heard that Flamingokid1 won't be able to make it assume her position as our movie screen in A7 this year. We will miss her and Gary. I've slipped into that spot this year so we will see how a little newer unit functions as our movie screen..

Hard to belive but we are just over 60 days and counting....!

It's going to be quite the crowd! We are also coming in on Thursday, and are looking forward to meeting everyone.

As this is our first rally, can we ask the perhaps obvious/what to expect/what to bring, etc.?? We know there is a potluck Saturday pm---other than that??

Thanks so much!

Friday around dinner time I'll provide hot dogs, and buns down at my site for the early arrivals. We did that for the first time last year and it was a fun time. Some folks brought some side items to eat along with the dogs.... If you want to bring something it would be fine. I'm trying not to make this an official potluck so don't feel obligated.

We will do movies on the side of an Airstream after the potluck on Saturday night, so bring a lawn chair. An extra table cloth is nice since we will gather tables at or near the A07 site to set out the food and eat on.

Saturday day around noon is open house so feel free to visit the folks who are opening their doors for visitors.

I'll post a little more detail as we get closer.

Jack

Just a bump to see if we have any more confirmed reservations. We aren't too far away at this point. This is a great rally for first timers with a great open house on Saturday afternoon. Saturday night is our traditional pot luck meal and movies on the side of an Airstream. For those arriving early on Friday at 5 we will serve hot dogs followed by a community campfire.

See the first post in this thread for additional information. Remember we have no lock on the sites. This means that the folks at Moraine View will honor any request for a specific site. That's good and bad news. Good in that you can reserve the site you wish, bad if someone else takes it first. If you have no specific site request, the folks at Moraine will assign you an available spot within our attendees. Make sure you write "Airstream Group" somewhere on the reservation form.

Questions?? This is the place to ask them.

Jack

I am happy to report Ike & I have plans to attend, and actually arrive at, this years rally!! Having missed the last two years, and I may add, ruining our "every year since the 1st Midwest Rally" streak, we are so looking forward to seeing everyone again. There will be two new 'mingos in attendance too. Bought 'em last year and haven't had a chance to use them.

It looks like attendance is down a bit. Given the economic climate I can certainly understand why. I spoke with Mary at Moraine View S.P. yesterday and I believe there were no less than 6 sites in our usual area - P36, 37, 39, 40, 43 & 41. I sure hope those are filled with our members - & maybe their guests.

I sent our reservation in today and as far as I know, we will be on P38. I'll let you know if that changes.

Sue

p.s. I haven't seen all the posts - is there a theme this year?

Sue, so happy to see that you and Ike are coming. As far as a theme???? The wheels are turning.... Last years theme "Goin to the Dogs" was sort of prophetic wasn't it? Even though it was dedicated to our 4 legged friends, I did have a secondary intention.....

We are sending in ours today. Have no idea what site they will give us. We are new to this group and visited the Rend Lake rally last week. We do not have our shiny trailer yet, so will be sleeping in our faithful Starcraft. We have silver fever really bad now and time and budget permitting, the hunt is on!

Roger & Alice, glad to see you are coming. As long as you put Airstream Group on the form, the folks at Moraine will keep you in our group. Let me know your site once you get confirmed.

Regards,

Jack

Just a note to you first time attendees. The sites are electric only so you will need to come in with full fresh water tanks and empty holding tanks. There are a couple of locations scattered around the campground with water spigots. In addition we can hook up some hoses together to fill your tank if need be. I bring 3, 7 gallon plastic containers that I can fill if I need to top off my tank.

There is a bathhouse with shower facilities for those who wish to partake of them. As you come into the park you will pass one dump station. There is another dump station at the end of our loop at the check in station.

We attended this rally several years ago and had a great time. Family obligations have kept us from returning. We're baaack! Site A04. We won't be in an Airstream but we will be decked out in aluminum. A 1971 Avion 28T. Looking forward to a great weekend!

McAir Team is confirmed for P39. Roger and Alice will be there for sure. Possibly one or both daughters. They are still undecided. We have friends who live in Bloomington and I am expecting them to drop by also. They have the absolute cutest set of twins who where adopted last fall from S. Korea
