I've just checked the Accuweather site, which I tend to believe a little more than weather.com.
The latest forecast is a 50% chance of thunderstorms on Thursday night. Friday day 25% chance of thunderstorms, lowering to 13% Friday night. So we should be good for hot dogs!
Saturday looks like we should be on the northern side of a cool front with a high of 83 with only a 16% chance of showers. Saturday night shows a 17% chance of showers with a low of 62. Sunday is sunny and a high of 84.
At this point once we get through Thursday night, we should probably find that the weekend will be a good one. Cross your fingers at this point, it's still a little to early to hang your hat on this forecast but it's looking positive.

We'll be bringing a tub filled with ice and drinks to go with your hot dogs Friday night.
Martha
Martha, you're new to Moraine View. Hope you've noted that identifiable adult beverage containers cannot be anywhere in sight. For all the times I've seen such notices in some parks, Moraine View is the one place that enforces it with big fines. Haven't seen them confiscate an Airstream yet. So everyone bring yer peel-off RC cola stickers.
Just as an update eikel1we who is in A9 had to cancel due to an illness in the family. For those of you who know them, this is Sue and Ike from Michigan. At this point we have confirmed the following sites are open and available. If you want to call and switch, do it now! If you have been thinking about coming this is your opportunity. Open sites as of 4:08 PM today. P30, P31. A06, and A09. Let me know if you pick up these sites.

Jerry and I have found ourselves unexpectedly free for the weekend and would love to join the rally. I will contact the campground tomorrow morning and see what space we can get.
ON EDIT: Or do we do reserve another way?? Please advise.
I haven't read all the posts, so if there are some I should read to learn about the activities, pot lucks, etc, let me know.
Now to finish of the preparations..... See y'all at the camp ground.

Yes, four kids and two adults in the thing.
Happy wife, happy life.
Last year we took Highway 55 but somehow took the wrong turn. Does anyone have directions for those of us traveling south on 55 from the Chicago area. Do we exit at 74?

From I-55, you will want to head East on I-74 to the LeRoy exit. Follow the signs into LeRoy then turn left at the "T" intersection. Continue on until you see a Casey's Quick Mart -- turn right just past Casey's. You will travel about 5 miles on the county highway watching for the Moraine View Sign -- it will be a right turn.
I think nearly everyone experiences difficulty finding the park the first few times -- the direction signs are sparse and not exactly informative.

To add to Kevin's directions. It is "just" past the Quicky mart.

Thanks, Canoestream, for the heads up!
I should have been more specific that we were bringing cans of
pop to go along with the hot dogs.

We are excited to meet AS folks in the Midwest.

Caryl, Yes call the folks at Moraine View regarding reservations. You obviously know what is open based on my earlier post. Read the first post of this thread which gives you a lot of info. There is one other post towards the end of this thread that talks about the pot luck. I'll get it up to date today once I get out of some meetings here at work. Obviously the more you read of the thread the more comfortable you will be with the goings on.
Regards,
Jack

Hi Jack,
Airtandem reporting in.......we called MV, talked to Mary, and have taken Jim/Marianne Micklle's site, A 6, and have given up our site, P49. Hope this does not cause too much havic! Put us down for Marinated Bean Salad for Saturday, peanuts in the shell(have to work for this snack)for movie time and fruit salad for hotdogs Friday. Camper ready, just have to add rain gear...maybe we'll scare it all away!!! Looking forward to meeting new friends! Dana and Mike Johnson, Davenport, Iowa 30'Excella Classic 1998
Due to a unexpected surgery of a parent we will not be able to attend this weekend. Our site is P44 if anyone wants to call and shift. We were looking forward to our third year. Have to catch you next year.
Bill, Carolyn, and Lucy the Bulldog
Obviously the more you read of the thread the more comfortable you will be with the goings on.
OR, with Silvertwinkie, Hot Lava, Tikihut (and a few others who shall remain nameless, Canoestream!) in attendance, you may learn to be UNcomfortable with the goings on.
Just kidding. The folks who attend this gathering are the best. You're going to have a ball!
Roger

Due to a schedule change, Wanita and I will now be able to attend. I've talked with Mary at MV this morning and am sending in a deposit for spot. Look forward to attending and will followup after we read through all the messages.
