Amy and I are extremely bummed about me having Annual Training during the rally. We hope everyone has a great time. Not to hijack or self promote, but we hosting a rally at Meramec SP in August.

Hope the dogs are running free in June.

Talked to ol Norb last night, he's not going to be able to make it.

Hard to believe this is only a few weeks away. Hopefully it'll be a warm one. I really want to fire up the A/C unit and let it get a workout.

A change in format this year.

We're going to do something different this year on Friday. I think we have done movies on both Friday and Saturday nights. With a lot of folks coming in on Friday, we've had to deal with some additional traffic on the park loop road and folks have to come in after dark. That makes it difficult to hear, not everyone get's to participate, and some of us peel off to help those backing in the dark.

So this year let's make Friday night a campfire night. I'm hoping if flamingo-kid1 doesn't mind we can build a fire in her area. For those of you getting there by 5 pm, I'll be celebrating the "Go'in to the Dogs" theme by providing some hot dogs over at my site in P40 right across from A07. So come by and grab a dog, bring a chair and your drinks. Sit at my site or walk over to A07. If you want to share some snacks with the dogs, feel free. I know Patty will be making her human Puppy Chow snack in case you are looking for something sweet.

Saturday night will be movie night so after dinner and once we get things cleaned up it will be close to show time. At this point the dog theme continues with my expected showing of "Best in Show".

IMDb Video: Best in Show

Also don't forget from noon till 4 PM on Saturday are the trailer tours when we do our traditional open house. For those who want to participate, you can visit and see the vintage or newer units that are our pride and joy's.

Jack

I LIKE it

I LIKE the campfire idea.. two nights of movies are a lot. If you want, you can cook your dogs over the campfire..

I have plenty of extra tablecloths, my "new" vintage aluminum serving cart, and MAYBE a 10' x10' po-up cabana-thingie.. thanks to Sue.. she told me about a FAB sale at Aldi's, of all places. So IF the thing will pop up and STAY up.. we might use it.

If you want to cook them over the campfire, I'll have some for that if you want. Otherwise I'll cook them on my gas grill and have them with buns ready pick up and eat.

The grill is always with me so I have no problem in cooking them. Yes it will be nice. We had to, at the last minute abort our first trip out in April due to illness, so this will be number one for us.

The price of gas will probably keep us closer this year and maybe some shift in our normal vacation plans. When you have a tow vehicle at 10 mpg, and a passenger car that gets about 38 mpg, you start doing the math on how you want to spend your money.

Twink and I were speculating about how many destination campgrounds will take a hit this year. That Stars & Stripes rally that Steve is putting on is mighty attractive being only 50 miles from my home, and about 35 miles from where I keep the Airstream.
