It seems a number of groups are planning celebrations this summer marking the 75th anniversary of the end of Prohibition.
To the delight of Chicago natives I’ve read that Schlitz beer is going to return to its original recipe for the occasion. Anheuser-Busch held a little bash last week. Our St Louis friends could bring a fresh batch of August Busch’s finest. We could set up a "Hospitality Booth" and have..our...own...little................
Never mind. Dry Park.
But wait. Let’s make it like the Prohibition era. Speakeasy over at A07, flappers and gun molls.
Anyone named Alphonse or Elliot care to make an appearance as a leading character? We could entertain the other campers by recreating the St. Valentines Day Massacre over by the bathhouse.
Movie night could feature classics from Max Sennet, Busby Berkely or the Marx Brothers.
OK. I’m off to find a recipe for bathtub gin. Probably the only thing the miniscule tub in a vintage Airstream is good for.
Sorry.
Slow day at work and they’ve been rodding the sewers all afternoon. I think the fumes are getting to us.
You know what they say, Idle Hands are the Devils Playground. Wasting time, waiting for 5:00.
Pulled the trailer out of storage and we're getting her ready for the season. Now if will only stop raining.....
We are confirmed for space A11. I will check with my friends to see what site they have.
Speaking of our SOB friends;
I'm liking the aluminum foil, tarp, and ducktape idea.
Add to that this idea. How about everyone makes a point of giving them strange looks or pointing and whispering as they walk by. When they introduce themselves, respond with "Oh, right, you're the ones who DON'T have an Airstream...." then walk away. When they enter the scene, suddenly all conversation stops...... then I was thinking of labeling them somehow, like The Scarlet Letter, only instead of A like the book, we give them a great big Scarlet Acronym....SOB. And we can set up a seperate table at the potluck and lable it for non-Airstream owners and tell them they can't sit with the group. The possiblities are endless..........
And we top this all off with a midnight knock at the trailer door and the ol' flaming bag of dog poop! that never gets old.
Caryn & I will be there and we have been assigned A-13. This year we hope once again to bring our grand children. We really enjoyed last year and we are looking forward to this year.

Ok, I've updated my previous post to reflect your attendance. I've got a feeling that the reserved spots in our area will probably be sold out within 2-3 weeks.

Howdy Allen -- I was looking forward to you signing up. Please have Caryn bring the Cavaliers. We have had to restock our stable and have an adorable English cocker puppy. The grandkids will be so pampered -- it's a question of who'll be more exuberant. Moraine View seems such a reality with weather warming and camping trips starting right up!
