The pot arrived yesterday and is 11.5 quarts. I did the first "seasoning" yesterday but I'm from the school that belives proper seasoning takes years of use.

I found two recipes when I followed the link you provided. The one I belive you are using is the Cajun Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya, The other is titled Homemade Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya and has no Tasso (bummer) but includes bell peppers and celery. Me thinks this dish has as many variations as people who prepair it. I enjoy cooking but this will be my first encounter with Jambalaya. I'm going to enjoy assisting you. I also suspect there are several varying histories that have contributed to the orgin of Jambalaya. It will be fun to hear the folklore about orgins as we prepair your version and enjoy eating it. I'll be tempted to slip a couple of your beers into the stock.

Linda and Jim, welcome to the group, 34th to join up - can't wait to meet everyone.

Oh man, this is going to rock. The camp ground owners don't know what the fuss is all about - "Hey look honey, we have a full booking the first weekend in January."

Time to eat

Ok...How about we all start eating around 5:00 P.M.?I really dont want to have a schedule to start something like this but I am thinking it would be a great idea to do this as with others who will be cooking and such. The sun will still be up and we will be able to see everything. Also everyone can chill out,Eat,Drink and be Merry. Also if the movie deal is setup I am pretty sure that will help when some are finished and it starts getting dark.We will have a lot of tables there so we might be able to sit at some of them.I would think the children could do this.Holding a plate and a drink is still a learning experience for my little one.if the weather goes right and we can do it outside which would be great but we still have the club house on hold just in case.I will have plates,Drinking cups, bowls and styrofoam take out boxs for the leftovers for those who would like some.If I remember correctly Klattu was bringing the forks and spoons.Others will be bringing tables and such.
This is going to be one great Airstream Party.I can not wait till it gets here and also meet all of you at rally. Thanks

What is VAP?

Yes to forks and spoons

Yes yes yes to left overs!

I have a door prize to give away, maybe right before movie?
Will do by drawing, one number for each AS registered campsite.
So far 34 and counting.

So much excitement!!!!!

There is so much excitement in our family about this rally, this week should be in the 60's here much better than the 20's we had last week. Sure hope the weather holds in Topsail for the rally. It is going to be so much fun putting names with faces. I will warn everybody my 8 year old has alluminutus also and loves to look at Airstreams he is as bad as his mama.

Okay have to share this with you all.

Looks like there are not enough t-shirt orders for the bulk order to be placed so I called cafe press as to sizing of the shirts. Ladies in all my life, those size chart numbers never seem to work out in real life, right? So I ask medium or large on contour shirt and I say the picture shows a model and the shirt looks pretty snug he says, "I understand Ma'am, but the shirts are sized for regular people that like to eat." That just struck my funny bone..

And that's a good thing 'cuz looks like we are going to eat!!!!!!!

Looks like Gulf Islands National Seashore is an hour away. What's that like? Worth the drive from where we will be at?

If you are asking about the one in Ocean Springs, MS - it took quite a beating from Katrina and may not be open. Santa Rosa Island near Pensacola is real nice and is also a part of the same park system. It also is in recovery from past hurricanes so I would call ahead. Both are real nice - but I am not sure of their status. Most camping along the MS Coast has allot of construction workers and are not in real great shape right now. It's a shame - they were real nice before the storm

Thanks. I bet where we are will be great right where we are at. Is anyone going to do some side trips? Maybe we could list them and see if there is a group that wants to go. We could cut and paste a list like the menu.
