Well, we bring those mini radios to help backup.....

As for the Chubby Bunny thing, for those not in the Chicagoland area, a child died playing the game at a local school 6 years ago and the trial is just now getting underway. It's alleged that the student was not under supervision by staff at the time of the incident....so it's a fairly large issue around here on news every day, several times a day.....so no Chubby Bunny from me...Norby can pick up the torch, but I know he'd use gourmet marshmallows.

Sue we had reservations for 26, but I think 24 actually showed. We are 19 so far. We lost about 4 of the folks who originally had wanted to come due to other committments or due to this year's event being closer to the WBCCI International in Springfield Mo. So if I counted those folks, we would be very close to last year's attendance.

Now on to my soap box.

So you aren't sure yet whether you want to go. Maybe it won't be any fun? Maybe you will feel left out. OK. Here are the recaps from last year. Read 'em and maybe this will make up your mind!

Its time to talk about the Saturday night meal. Some have asked about a theme. So here it is!

What would be better than a back to the beach theme. Wear your hawaiian shirts, your shorts, your sandles! And if you have Tiki torches wow, the more the better!

Beach food, food with an island theme, (of course you can bring anykind of food and give it an island name. I remember my father talking about Hawaiian beans and their after effect being somewhat musical in nature ). As in previous years, you are responsible for your own main course. What you contribute can be a side dish, desert, or whatever. Bring enough to serve 6-8. That should provide enough food for all.

I'll keep track of who is bringing what and post an ongoing list. That way we can minimize duplications. All right! Ready....set....go!

1st dish entry

Ok, here goes. Terri said we're bringing a 7 layer taco salad. I'll have a bowl of sand on the side for those who want to experience "beach" food .

Strawberry Kiwi Salad

An old standby that is easy to make. Came from the Wisconsin State Journal sometime back in the 80's.

For our food contribution, if I think I heard this correctly from Patty, we are bringing foil baked sliced potatoes.....
