We're in! P49
I think you guys are right - we will be needing a break from the move and unpacking by Rally time.
Anyone up for the "Move the Lawrence's" Rally we'll be hosting for May 15th? IT will be great. Everyone lines up down the street at house number 1 - packs their Camper full of our prized possesions ("Careful! Don't scratch that priceless lavalamp! Hey! Watch it - buddy. I paid five bucks for that at my neighbors garage sale!") then we caravan to house #2 to unload one by one. Our new neighbors are sure to be impressed! We then all park in a circle around the new homestead and everyone unpacks. Doesn't this sound like a fun filled rally? Oh, and bring some food and chocolate milk. I'm sure to be hungry and thirsty from organizing and supervising.

OK, the count at this point.....drum roll please! Two more reservations added. We are at 17!
If you haven't been here before, don't be afraid that you are new. This is a great bunch of folks who are going to be here. A great place if you are a newbee. Lots of advice, lots of questions answered, and if you are interested seeing new trailers, and vintage units, this is the place to be. It's your chance to see the insides and hey, no sales pressure.
Speaking of sales, we did an informal garage sale last year. If you have some Airstream related things for sale, bring them with you and keep them at your site. During the open house folks can look at your stuff. I know I sold a hitch and a couple of tow bars last year. I think I'll have a couple of Reese 750 lb. bars with me this year, and if anyone is really interested I have a brand new receiver that fits a 2003 GMC or Chevy van that I can bring up with me.
I'll be setting up the agenda in the next couple of weeks and probably at month end we will start up the food list for the Saturday night pot luck!
Well the cold weather has left STL and the warmth will soon be everywhere. Folks will be thinking of heading out so get those reservations in!

Special Appearance!
If he doesn't go on the missing persons list prior to his wedding, our resident fire chief SilverTwinkie, a.k.a. Eric will be providing his special campfire building instructions.
This is last year where after utter failure, a girl and boyscout gave Eric a tip showing that a match works better than using a lens and moonlight.

I'm sure our group of funny looking campers isn't going to draw enough attention as it is, let's get back on topic of a theme!
I'm voting pot luck night be a Lou Owww. (If you don't know how to spell it, make it a doozy, I always say). I love Hawaiian! I wear a couple of coconuts and my grass skirt every time I go to the grocery store. Any other suggestions?
Excited about the Rally - tired of packing!

This does have a Hawaiian look to it doesn't it? Maybe after the fire dies down we can get a volunteer (or someone appropriately liquored up) to do the dance on the hot bed of coals!
From last year's rally:

Special Olympics Again
It turns out that Spring Special Olympic Games are the same weekend as Moraine, and again, as last year. we want to do both! ERic won a gold medal in both the 3000 meter and Shotput.
God willing, we'll actually have a trailer! (unlike last year)
If (God Willing) we have a trailer, it will have two little dogs in it, who MIGHT bark during the day. So far, they have been good campers and NOT barkers.
Might I ask someone to keep an ear open and also watch to make sure that the AC stays on, etc.?
We won't be gone all day long, probaby just for morning and over lunch time.

If we were going to be there, Rachelle, you know that we'd watch your little dogs, but we'll be missing the fun. We'll be square in the middle of new retirement/fixing-up-the downsized-house chaos. Love reading about the rally plans. Max and I will take a break from all the work that weekend to bend our elbows with some Chocolate Milk in tribute to a great bunch of Airstreamers~ Aloha! Hope the games go well for Eric ~Georgia

you're so sweet
Georgia, you're always the first one to be really sweet and show concern for everybody. Must be the teacher in you :-)
I'm not super worried about the girls; we have taken them out camping and tested them; they don't bark if they see the truck drive away.
But of course I don't knwo what they do while we're gone... I think they sleep. (a dog's top priority, you know)
