Mountains and travel - Interstate 80

CStar; RE Mountains and Travel.

I pulled a 27' foot Overlander from Michigan to Washington State last February in the snow. Interstate 8o is safe, controlled, and easy to drive and tow on. One of the things that convinced me to go was the constant availability of traffic cams in almost all states. I could see where I was headed. For example, you can actually see the Wyoming roads NevadaGeo is talking about at WYDOT Travel Information Service (Cheyenne)

See you there!

If I had to guess based on previous years maps, I would say the shaded retangle areas are reserved for theme camps that are integrated into the residential neighborhoods.

Too true. But what's so special about the 3:30 to 4:00 segment of Edsel that is missing, in order to make that area twice as wide? What's in there? If it's the 24-hr African Drumming Society maybe we want to move up towards 2:30 instead of where I proposed.

Dr.Quark:
Last year Burnstream Court had the "pleasure" of having a high powered rock/dance camp across the street. They saw no problem in violating the noise restrictions in camp by blasting their sounds at FULL POWER all night long. The large reserved area in question frightfully reminds me of that group.

Funny, I don't think I heard them at all. Maybe I had enough "medicine" every evening...

Anyway, if that's the case this year, we may be doing some real-time relocating after an initial survey of the situtation. I'm assuming, of course, that the theme camps will already be established or at least have some presence by Monday morning. If we move, I would look for us to be along Hummer or Gemlin at 2:30. Capice? I'm sure Artstream will steer us to a great location.

Burning Man Camp name?

Do we have "camp name" for the Burning Man Rally? If we don't we could have a lot of fun coming up with one in the next few weeks so the artists can do their work!

Set the time machine to August 2008 and pray it works this time

Twenty silver time capsule riders arrive in the Nevada desert swirling with time travel and culture streching sickness. As they perform the bonding rituals they begin to question if they are really here at all - or is this another time pop incident? It all seems sort of fuzzy in an incoherent sort of way. Then they notice the incandescent sign begin to warp in and out until it finally sticks in the present, "ArtZilla Burnstreamers" it says. Finally finally - the time space continum anchor has arrived. This is, at last, the place and time to have some Par-ty.

Ahem........the name "Burnstream" rightfully belongs to the founders of Burnstream Court and I my opinion we should honor that. Now to get the naming game moving how about names such as:
Camp Alumina
Camp AirDream
Wally Dollies
Wally's Dreamers
Aluminum Gypsy Camp
AIR Heads
ArtZilla Villa
Camp Happy Hour

Now it is your turn to comment.....

Great start, Mark. We could honor Michael for starting this whole thing, or recognize that we are all Air Forums members.

Thanks Zep!
Nothing like a little honor!

Regardless of the camp name, the greatest honor I could imagine would be for
everyone to have the best time of their lives.

The great Humongous
