I still can't figure this out.... as, a long time Dead fan (30 years) and current RatDog fan... What is this about? I have looked at the threads and still can't figure it out...I suppose a form of boondocking since there is no water or electric. Are there bands? Can children (12 year old) go or is it more like Mardi Gras in New Orleans? Sounds intriguing. thanks Gypsy

You will see kids there. If you are more comfortable talking about sex at the dinner table rather than the murder rate, they will be fine. I recommend the former over the latter, but that's just one person's opinion.
I think kids do a fine job of filtering and observing. It will expand their horizons, in a good way.
They have a kids corral at BM. If you've never been there, you MUST read up on the burningman.com, especially the first timers survival guide. Don't take their survival guide lightly.
Well to offer another opinion...I probably wouldn't bring mine.
Not that you couldn't...I do know people who do
and there is a Kid/Family area.
But...it is wild, crazy, noisy, and intense.. and very HOT and dirty.
So depending on the kid (age and temperament)
you may want to think about letting them stay home.
They can always go on their own (or with you) as they get older.
And for me...part of the experience is to be able to be free and run around doing and seeing everything
without being responsible for anyone else.
Thank you to BamCamper, Zeppelinium, Byamcaravanner, Artstream and NevadaGeo for your insight into the BM...I will have to plan in advance for this party.. or, maybe, one closer to the east coast... any of you volunteer?? have a great time...Gypsy1
I am not going to be able to attend this year. I hope every one has a great time. I have two tickets I am going to sell. I bought them the first day and will sell them for what I paid.
All this talk of the party.
Mary and I hooked up the Bambi and rolled all the way to the beach in Mexico!
We then rolled north to Vegas, Death Valley, then on to the Playa where we met fellow BM Airstreamer, Silverbear! We decided to get our parking spot mapped out early.
