15th Blanco Airstream Christmas Rally

This is the 15th year for our Blanco Airstream Christmas Rally non-Rally.
A lot of water has gone down the Blanco River in all these years and we are looking forward to get together with old and new friends.
The dates are Dec 7th-Dec 10th
Friday night: Meet around the campfire
Saturday morning :
Christmas Market at the town square
Saturday afternoon/evening:
4:30-6:30 Happy hour and potluck at the Pavilion
6:30-7:30 Blanco Christmas Parade
8:00-10:00 pm deserts and gift exchange at the Pavilion. (please bring a small wrapped gift)

Good news, Roseann reserved the Pavilion for us for Saturday, Dec 9th.
Since its not always a given that the Pavilion is available, despite our strong presence in the park, I want to thank Roseann for moving on it!
On a different note, if you have made reservations for that weekend and already know that you can not attend, please cancel your reservation and post a quick note here.

The official symbol of a 15th Anniversary is Crystal so this years theme will be a Crystal Christmas....think snow and Ice and Quartz Crystals lots of white lights that kind of thing. Josie Tabasco is the Judge she is a Puppy Dog ( bribes should NOT be liquor she is NOT old enough to drink).
In honor of the Crystal Celebration Peter and I are donating a beautiful Quartz Crystal Cluster to the Gift Exchange Game.....oh and I changed the rules for this year. There will be several gifts that will be marked DO NOT OPEN UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME this includes after No 1 gets to go again.
The unopened gifts can be kept or traded as usual you just can't open them.
The Quartz Crystal will be one of the unopened ones as well as at least one other gift donated by us so you can't guess which one it is until all are opened.
I look forward to all the Trouble this WILL cause, especially during the annual Debate of the Rules that takes place every year before the game begins and YES you can trade any gift as many times as anyone wants.
So wrap your gifts maybe in a way to give a hint or to mislead perhaps I am sure you can come up with ways to make this Fun and Good Luck , the Crystal Will be worth finding .

8AM to 11 AM Saturday Dec 9 2017
This is event #6 in the Run in Texas 5K Six Pack Series. Starts and finishes at the very cool, very hip Real Ale Brewing Co. The course runs south through downtown Blanco, by the Blanco River and back to the brewery. One water stop at the 1.5 mile point will be manned by a local non profit. After cooling off, runners can hit the tasting room where they will recieve a finisher glass and up to 4 x 8oz tastings. More cool things you can expect are:

Food Trucks!
Stroller friendly course!
Dog friendly! (must obey leash laws and pick up after fifi or fido)
Music
Real ALe Brewery

Looking for something to do at the non Rally, walk your way thru a 5K that leads to a Brewery
Friends of Blanco State Park will be manning the water station at mile 1.5

What a wonderful holiday weekend! A snowfall welcome followed by beautiful sunny cold days! We had a fun time and are so happy the rally continues. We are hoping for #16 in 2018! Thanks to Peter and his team for a great rally! Merry Christmas and safe travels home to everyone!

We had a great time this weekend as usual, and appreciate all the work and planning everyone did. Thanks also to Susan Coppedge for loaning the reindeer flamingoes to us. They pulled our Airstream here with no problems, and hopefully won’t be too tired to deliver all the presents on Christmas.
