For the past several years, I’ve heard rumors of car show Mecca in my area of northern Ohio. This year I decided to go see it for myself. And the rumors were true. Just south of Vermilion Ohio, the Lorain County Metropark called Mill Hollow is transformed into the largest vintage car show in Ohio. The normal attendance is between 3,000 and 4,000 show cars. Attendance is guessed to be about 15,000 people.
Participants started lining up at about 4:30 a.m. The show runs 10-3. A 50’s concert is held afterwards. The show is restricted to vehicles 25 years and older.
The date for the show is normally the first Sunday in August.
So I thought I would throw out a feeler to gauge if their be any interest in setting up a vintage wagon wheel next year. Due to the nature of the setup, I anticipate asking for permission to come in Saturday and boondock overnight. Arrangements for Friday night camping could also be made nearby.
The variety at this show is incredible. Vehicles range from monster trucks, corvette clubs, imports, to duesenbergs. My buddy brought his fire truck! He parked it next to a Peterbuilt Semi camper conversion.
Anyways, I’m obviously not looking for commitment, but is there enough interest for me to contact the park to discuss the possibility?
