I'm restoring completely an 1960 Overlander and I also have to reconstruct all the conveniences as well as the inside etc....
My day request is where is the place to install clean water tanks ? Under the floor with the insulation ? I wish to install 200 liters of clean water, do you think that possible and a good idea ? if it's a bad idea...why ?
Put the tank as close to the axles as possible. 200 liters is 53 gallons. I have heard of people putting in much more. That is roughly 412 pounds when full. Keep in mind that water will need to go somewhere once used.
I thought in Europe the water tank is portable and external to the trailer. Is that correct?
Yes, near axle, it's correct, to avoid a chassis deformation. The tanks will be full only when the trailer is parked (of course),
For the used water tank, in France, we say "grey water tank" and I think to use portabe grey water tank (2 pieces with 10 gallons approx. for each) and you can use portable clean water tank but you have to tidy it in the trailer and I'm looking for the best practice way possible...
How many gallon max. do you think I can put near axle ?
