where to put LP connector for generator??

Thinking about converting my honda 2000 to trifuel. Where and how do I put a fitting on the trailer to connect to? Do I put it on the low pressure line past the regulator and run the same pressure to the generator as goes to the applioances? Or do I need to put it on the bottle side of the regulator and add a regulator for the generator? If on the low pressure line can someone recommend the proper QD fittings? I know about the fittings for air but suspect gas ones must be different.

Sorry. I had mine added at the factory. It is regulated already as a low pressure port and the quick disconnect is located on the street side of the a-frame. Not sure that helps or not. I think someone here has installed their own. Good luck!

I carry a separate 20 lb propane bottle for accessories, generator, etc.

I bought my QD fitting from Vintage Trailer Supply. Mounted it on the street side rear corner because that's where the old QD fitting was. Plumbed it in to the propane lines with 3/8" flare fittings, though the QD itself is 1/4". If you put it after the trailer regulator, you won't want a second regulator on the generator/grill/whatever or you won't get any gas to the appliance. Not sure how you would put it before the regulator since the pigtail goes directly into the regulator from the tank. At that point, you might as well just disconnect one of your gas bottles and connect it directly to a separate regulator for your generator.

This thread is where I described and posted pics of how I added my auxiliary LPG connector:

Thanks guys. Just what I was looking for. I will probably put a QD in the gas line up front on the A frame, But just running it off a separate regulator connected to one of the bottles is tempting.

For what it's worth - I go the conversion kit from Genconnex and they made two sets of hoses for me. One to run off the QD and the other to run off the tanks directly. I like the flexibility to do both or to use at home off 20# bbq tanks if I need the generator in a power outage.

Just finished up mine today it went really easy. Just cut the 3/8 od copper line under the trailer flared both sides and added a 3/8 flared tee fitting and then ran new line to the rear and installed a quick disconnect on the frame buy the rear bumper.
