Where to Mount Propane/CO Combination Detector?

We do not have a propane or CO detector in our 1991 25ft. Excella... as best I can tell, something was surface mounted right under the main closet in the hallway, towards the floor which I am thinking may have been a propane detector but I don't see where they would have had it hard wired.

I am thinking this would be a great place to put a combination propane/CO detector and then just hard-wire it using the power going to the water pump which is under the trap door in that closet... does anyone have any thoughts, good, bad, etc? If you have a similar trailer, do you know where the propane dector would have been mounted when the trailer was new?

The location you pointed out is probably where the propane leak detector was located. The general rule is...

Propane Leak Detector - Mount Low (an inch or two from the floor)
Carbon Monoxide Detector - Mount High (about 5 ft from floor)

I have separate units.

Thanks Mello Mike! Maybe I will do two separate detectors as you have done.
