Vintage Oval Shaped LP Tank Cover

Okay all of you Vintage AS Enthusiast........

A call to arms.........

I am in desperate search of any photos, illustrations, specifications, part number, or visions of a LP tank cover from the ol vintage airstreams.

This cover is oval in shape if you are looking at it from the top. Not like the square or oblique shape ones you see on the Excellas. I am thinking around early 70's to maybe even late 60's, I am guessing at the year. I have been told that Airstream did not cover LP tanks until mid to late 70's.

I have seen one at DONMAR RV but I was not paying attention enough to get the info from it.

Donny is not very receptive to selling any parts from his Graveyard of Airstreams and he is about 100 miles from me.

I will attach a sketch of the cover I have in mind.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know that this will be any help in locating one, but as I was reading your post it dawned on me that I had recently seen an Airstream with the cover you mention. I was checking on the status of repairs on my Overlander when it occurred to me that I saw the rig when I dropped off my Overlander at Ace Fogdall RV. The cover is on one of their Vintage used units. This one even has Excella 500 badging on the tank cover. They have it pictured on their web site at:
