Vintage Dometic refrigerator Parts question

Hello all, there may be a thread answering this but I couldn't find it. The Dometic fridge in our 1967 Safari works on electric, I lit the pilot it stayed lit but I immediately smelled LP gas. I bought a $25 sniffer at the Home Depot (works absolutely great) and tracked it to the knob which adjusts temperature when in gas mode. Not sure if it's actually the thermostat. I tightened the fittings but it had no effect on leak.

Questions: Are parts available, is it worth fixing?

You may be able to find a unit that someone is letting go for parts. They do not make parts for that unit anymore (My guess its a M52). You might be able to find a part that would work off of a different model frig. If you decide to go the replace route, please offer your unit up to those that could use it for parts. I would be interested myself.

Enjoy,

Try a RV Salvage yard. The one in PHX had some new old stock and a friend found the part he needed.
