Turning Propane Off?

State laws seem to vary. Is there a need to shut off the propane supply anytime when driving or only through tunnels? Does it conserve propane to shut off the supply when you are not using it for a few days? How about re-lighting pilot lights ... any guidance for that in an AI Grand Tour or is it just unnecessary to shut off the gas in the first place?

With electronic ignition on refrigerators, water heaters and furnaces, virtually nothing has pilot lights anymore on newer rigs. Propane does not leak out of pipes and fittings when not being used, it would be very dangerous if it did. So there is no savings in turning it off when not being used.

I always turn mine off when not in use in case there is a leak. The trailer sits outside and always had a window open, so I am not worried about danger. I do it to keep the tanks from emptying in case of a leak.

Hi, the only time that my propane tanks are turned off is when my trailer is not being used. [parked/in storage]
